4. Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your washing machine. It is recommended to have the installation performed by qualified personnel.

4.1 Unpacking

  • Remove all packaging materials, including the polystyrene base and any protective film.
  • Remove the transit bolts from the rear of the machine. These bolts secure the drum during transport and must be removed before operation. Keep them for future transport.

4.2 Location Requirements

  • Place the machine on a firm, level surface. Avoid carpets or soft flooring that could obstruct ventilation.
  • Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation and maintenance.
  • The machine should be placed near a water tap, a drain, and a grounded electrical outlet.

4.3 Connecting Water Hoses

  • Connect the cold water inlet hose to the cold water tap and the corresponding inlet valve on the machine.
  • Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Do not overtighten.

4.4 Drain Hose Setup

  • The drain hose can be placed directly into a standpipe or hooked over the edge of a sink.
  • Ensure the drain hose is not kinked or obstructed. The height of the drain point should be between 60 cm and 100 cm from the floor.

4.5 Leveling the Machine

  • Adjust the adjustable leveling legs at the bottom of the machine until it is perfectly level and stable.
  • Use a spirit level to check for levelness. A stable machine reduces vibration and noise during operation.

4.6 Electrical Connection

  • Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  • Ensure the voltage and frequency match the specifications of your local power supply (220 Volts).

5. Operation

Operating your Midea washing machine is straightforward. Follow these steps for optimal washing results.

5.1 Preparing Laundry

  • Sort laundry by fabric type, color, and degree of soiling.

  • Empty pockets and close zippers and hooks to prevent damage to clothes and the drum.

  • For best results, leave enough space for clothes to tumble freely.

5.3 Adding Detergent and Additives

  • Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer.
  • Add appropriate amounts of detergent to the main wash compartment (II).
  • Add fabric softener to the softener compartment (flower symbol). Do not exceed the MAX line.

6. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures your washing machine operates efficiently and extends its lifespan.

6.1 Cleaning the Exterior

  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals.

6.2 Cleaning the Detergent Dispenser

  • Pull out the dispenser drawer completely.
  • Remove any removable parts (e.g., siphon cap).
  • Rinse all parts under running water to remove detergent residue.

  • You can add a washing machine cleaner or a small amount of white vinegar to the detergent dispenser for this cycle.

6.4 Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter

The drain pump filter should be cleaned periodically to prevent blockages and ensure proper drainage.

  1. Place a shallow container or towel under the filter cover to catch any residual water.
  2. Open the filter cover located at the bottom front of the machine.
  3. Slowly unscrew the filter counter-clockwise until water starts to drain. Allow all water to drain.
  4. Once drained, fully remove the filter.
  5. Clean the filter under running water, removing any lint, coins, or foreign objects.
  6. Check the pump impeller inside the filter housing for any obstructions.
  7. Screw the filter back in clockwise until it is securely tightened. Close the filter cover.
