5. Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your ORVIBO Smart Switch. Always ensure power is off before beginning any electrical work.
5.1 Wiring the Smart Switch
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker that controls the light switch you are replacing and turn it off. Verify the power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Old Switch: Carefully remove the faceplate and unscrew the old switch from the wall box. Disconnect the wires from the old switch, noting which wire is connected to which terminal.
- Identify Wires: In your wall box, identify the Line (hot), Load, Neutral, and Ground wires. A neutral wire (often white) is required for this smart switch.
- Connect New Switch: Connect the wires from your wall box to the ORVIBO Smart Switch according to the diagram below. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Connect the Line wire to the 'Line' terminal on the smart switch.
- Connect the Load wire to the 'Load' terminal on the smart switch.
- Connect the Neutral wire to the 'Neutral' terminal on the smart switch.
- Connect the Ground wire to the 'Ground' terminal on the smart switch.
- Mount Switch: Gently push the wired switch into the wall box and secure it with screws. Attach the new faceplate.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. The indicator light on the smart switch should illuminate.
