Installation Guide

• Phillips Head Screwdriver

Pre-Installation Check

• Ensure your door thickness is between 1-3/8" and 1-3/4".
• Verify the backset (distance from door edge to center of bore hole) is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4". The latch mechanism is reversible to accommodate both.

Installation Steps

1. Prepare the Door: If installing on a new door, use the provided template to mark and drill the necessary holes for the deadbolt and latch. For existing installations, remove the old hardware.
2. Install the Latch Mechanism: Insert the deadbolt latch mechanism into the edge bore hole of the door. Ensure the "UP" arrow (if present) faces upwards. Secure it with the provided screws.
3. Install the Exterior Cylinder: Insert the exterior deadbolt cylinder assembly through the larger bore hole on the door, ensuring the tailpiece aligns with the slot in the latch mechanism.
4. Install the Interior Thumb-Turn: Place the interior thumb-turn assembly over the tailpiece, aligning the mounting posts with the holes in the door.
5. Secure the Assemblies: Use the long mounting screws to connect the interior and exterior assemblies, tightening them evenly until snug. Do not overtighten.
6. Install the Strike Plate: Close the door and mark the position where the deadbolt throw extends to the door frame. Chisel out a shallow recess for the strike plate and secure it with screws. Ensure the deadbolt extends smoothly into the strike plate.

Operating Your Deadbolt

Locking from Exterior

Insert the key into the exterior cylinder and turn it clockwise until the deadbolt fully extends into the strike plate. Remove the key.

Unlocking from Exterior

Insert the key into the exterior cylinder and turn it counter-clockwise until the deadbolt fully retracts. Remove the key.

Locking from Interior

Turn the thumb-turn on the interior assembly clockwise until the deadbolt fully extends.

Unlocking from Interior

Turn the thumb-turn on the interior assembly counter-clockwise until the deadbolt fully retracts.
