1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Reliable Velocity 270IR Steam Iron. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference.

The Velocity 270IR is designed for efficient garment care, featuring advanced sensor touch technology, a compact vapor generator, and an anodized aluminum soleplate. It offers 8 programmable temperature settings to suit various fabric types, ensuring optimal results and continuous steam without leaks.

2. Safety Instructions

• Always unplug the iron from the electrical outlet when filling with water, emptying, or when not in use.
• Do not operate the iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. Contact customer support for repair.
• Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children and pets when it is switched on or cooling down.
• Never immerse the iron in water or other liquids.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the iron and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the iron for any signs of damage. Retain packaging for storage or future transport.

4.2 Filling the Water Reservoir

1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
2. Open the water tank inlet cover.
3. Fill the water tank with distilled water. Using distilled water is recommended to prolong the life of the iron and prevent mineral buildup.
4. Do not overfill the tank. Close the inlet cover securely.

4.3 Initial Use

For the first use, or after extended storage, it is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric to ensure any manufacturing residues are cleared and to test steam function.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Setting Temperature

1. Plug the iron into a suitable electrical outlet.
2. Turn the Digital Dial to the right to power on the iron and select one of the 8 temperature settings. The settings are: Anti Shine (110°C), ECO (120°C), Silk (130°C), Auto (140°C), Cotton (150°C), Jeans (160°C), Linen (170°C), Turbo (190°C).
3. The iron will emit an audible warning when it has reached the desired temperature, and the indicator light will turn from red to green.

5.2 Steam Activation (Sensor Touch Technology)

The Velocity 270IR features Sensor Touch Technology. Simply place your hand on the sensor area of the handle to activate a continuous flow of steam. Releasing your hand will stop the steam flow.

5.3 Auto-Off Bypass

The iron is equipped with an 8-minute auto-shutoff feature for safety. To bypass this feature, refer to the specific instructions provided with your iron or contact customer support. This allows for continuous operation, which can be beneficial for extended ironing sessions.

5.4 Powering Off

To turn off the iron, turn the Digital Dial to the left until it reaches the '0' position. Unplug the iron from the power outlet.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Soleplate

Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the anodized aluminum soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive iron cleaner. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemicals.

6.2 Emptying the Water Reservoir

After each use, or before storing, ensure the iron is unplugged and cooled. Open the water tank inlet and carefully empty any remaining water. This helps prevent mineral buildup and extends the iron's lifespan.

6.3 Storage

Store the cooled iron in an upright position to prevent water leakage from the soleplate. Ensure the cord is neatly wrapped and not kinked.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Iron Not Heating Sufficiently

The Velocity 270IR has 8 temperature settings. Ensure the correct setting is selected for your fabric. The red indicator light will turn green when the iron has reached the set temperature. If the light turns red during use, allow a brief moment for the iron to reheat.

7.2 Water in the Tank of a New Iron

All Reliable Velocity irons undergo 100% testing during production. It is possible for some residual water to remain in the tank or main unit after testing. This does not indicate a used product; all products are new unless otherwise advertised.

7.3 No Steam or Insufficient Steam

• Check if the water reservoir is adequately filled.
• Ensure the iron has reached the set temperature (green indicator light).
• Verify that the Sensor Touch Technology is being engaged correctly.
• Mineral buildup can obstruct steam vents. Perform regular maintenance as described in Section 6.
