Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Reliable Velocity 240IR Steam Iron. Designed for sewing, quilting, and general clothes ironing, this 1800W compact vapor generator features leak-free continuous steam, touch-activated control, and a scratch-resistant, easy-to-clean soleplate. Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance.

Important Safety Information

• Always unplug the iron when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
• Do not use anything other than water in the tank. Avoid vinegar, perfumes, scents, or chemicals, as this will void the warranty.
• Do not exceed the maximum 350ml water capacity.
• Do not use an extension cord, power bar, or surge protector. If absolutely necessary, use a 16 gauge cord with a minimum of 1800 Watts. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating and will void your warranty.
• Keep the iron out of reach of children and pets.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Allow the iron to cool completely before handling or storing.

Setup

Filling the Water Tank

Before first use, or if the iron has been stored for a long time, flush the water tank to remove any potential mineral buildup.

1. Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool.
2. Open the water inlet cover.
3. Fill the water tank with distilled water up to the MAX line (do not exceed 350ml).
4. Close the water inlet cover securely.
5. To flush, fill the iron, then dump out the water. Repeat this process two times.

Operating the Iron

Powering On and Temperature Settings

The Velocity 240IR does not have a dedicated on/off switch. To power off, you must unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.

The iron features two primary settings: Auto and Turbo.

• Auto Setting: This setting is safe for all fabric types, from delicate linens to more robust materials, providing effective wrinkle removal without risk of damage.
• Turbo Setting: For heavier fabrics or stubborn wrinkles that require additional heat and steam, switch to the Turbo setting for maximum power.

Activating Steam

The Velocity 240IR features Sensor Touch Technology for steam activation:

1. Press the steam button.
2. Simply grip the steam sensor handle. The iron will automatically release a steady stream of steam.

When using the iron for the first time, you may hear a "chugging" noise. This is normal and indicates the pump is initializing for first-time use.

Auto Shut-off Bypass

The iron is equipped with an 8-minute auto shut-off feature for safety. To enable or disable this feature:

1. Hold the steam button for 5 seconds.
2. The LED light will flash to indicate the change in setting.

This bypass option is particularly useful for tasks like quilting and sewing that require continuous ironing.

Maintenance

Soleplate Care

The anodized aluminum soleplate is scratch-resistant and easy to clean. To maintain its condition:

• Ensure the unit is off and the soleplate is cool.
• Simply wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth.
• Do not use any abrasives or chemical cleaners on the soleplate, as this can damage the surface.

Water Tank Care

• Always drain the water tank after each use to prevent mineral buildup.
• Use only distilled water to prolong the life of your iron and prevent scale formation.
• Never use hard water, tap water, or any additives like vinegar, perfumes, or chemicals in the water tank. This will void the product warranty.

Troubleshooting

• No Steam/Low Steam: Ensure the water tank is filled with distilled water. Check that the iron is properly heated to the desired temperature setting (Auto or Turbo). If using for the first time, allow the pump to initialize.
