Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Preparation:

Ensure everything is ready and safe before beginning the installation. Turn off your vehicle's ignition and disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery for safety.

  2. Locate the Fuse Box:

The car's fuse box is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment. In some vehicles, like certain BMW models, it might be found in the trunk.

  3. Identify ACC and Constant Power Fuse Slots:

Identify the ACC (Accessory) fuse slot in the fuse box. This slot provides power only when the ignition is on. Locate the constant power fuse slot, which provides power even when the ignition is off (for parking monitoring).

Refer to your vehicle's fuse box diagram (usually on the fuse box cover or in the owner's manual) to identify these specific terminals. The terminal that still has current after the car is turned off is the B+ (constant power), while the terminal that loses power after the car is turned off is the ACC. (Note: Some car models have a delayed power-off feature for the ACC terminal, so it is necessary to wait until the power is completely cut off before conducting the test.)

  4. Connect the Wires:

    • Connect the red wire from the hardwire kit to the ACC fuse slot using an appropriate fuse tap.
    • Connect the yellow wire from the hardwire kit to the constant power (B+) fuse slot using an appropriate fuse tap.
    • Find a suitable grounding point near the fuse box (a metal surface securely connected to the vehicle's chassis). Connect the black wire from the hardwire kit to this grounding point using the ring terminal or suitable connector.

  5. Route the Cable:

Use the provided installation tool (crowbar) to hide the remaining wire along the gap of the front windshield, down the A-pillar, and along the gap between the car body and the ceiling on the side of the passenger seat, and between the rear seat and the ceiling, leading to the dash cam's mounting location.

  6. Final Check:

Once all connections are secure and wires are neatly routed, reconnect the negative terminal of your car battery. Test the hardwire kit by turning on the ignition. The dash cam should receive power and begin functioning.
