Once installed, the FA6720-R heat alarm is continuously monitoring for rapid temperature increases. The red LED indicator will flash periodically (approximately every 45 seconds) to indicate normal operation.

5.2 Testing the Alarm:

It is recommended to test your heat alarm weekly to ensure proper functionality.

  • Press and hold the large TEST/SILENCE button located on the front of the alarm.
  • The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating siren at a reduced volume.
  • Release the button. The alarm should stop sounding.
  • If the alarm does not sound, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

5.3 Alarm Condition:

If the ambient temperature in the room reaches between 54°C and 65°C, the alarm will sound a continuous, loud siren. The red LED will flash rapidly. Evacuate the premises immediately and call emergency services.

5.5 Sleep Easy Function (Low Battery Warning):

  • Press the TEST/SILENCE button.
  • The low battery chirp will be silenced for 8 hours. The red LED will continue to flash.
  • The alarm will still detect heat during Sleep Easy mode.
  • Replace the alarm unit as soon as possible, and within 30 days of the first low battery warning.
