Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the controls and display of your JCR-160 unit.

Controls and Buttons:
- V-/AL1: Volume Down / Alarm 1 Set
- V+/AL2: Volume Up / Alarm 2 Set
- TIME/MEM: Time Set / Memory (for radio presets)
- DIMMER/SLEEP: Display Dimmer / Sleep Timer
- SNOOZE: Snooze / Alarm Off
- |<< / TUN-: Tune Down / Previous Track (Aux mode)

Display Indicators:
- PM: Indicates PM time.
- Alarm 1 Icon: Lights up when Alarm 1 is active.
- Alarm 2 Icon: Lights up when Alarm 2 is active.
- Radio Icon: Lights up when radio alarm is selected.
- Buzzer Icon: Lights up when buzzer alarm is selected.
- SLEEP: Indicates Sleep Timer is active.
Setup
1. Power Connection
- Plug the AC power adapter into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
- Connect the other end of the adapter to the DC IN jack on the back of the JCR-160.
- The unit will power on and the display will show "0:00" or the current time if battery backup is installed.
2. Battery Backup Installation
The JCR-160 requires 2 x 'AAA' batteries (not included) for clock memory backup. This ensures that time and alarm settings are retained during a power outage.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 2 'AAA' batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
Note: Battery backup only maintains time and alarm settings; the display will not illuminate and the alarm will not sound during a power outage.
3. Setting the Time
- In standby mode (unit off, time displayed), press and hold the TIME/MEM button until the display flashes.
- Press the |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ buttons to adjust the hour. Observe the PM indicator for correct AM/PM setting.
- Press the TIME/MEM button again to confirm the hour. The minute digits will flash.
- Press the |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ buttons to adjust the minutes.
- Press the TIME/MEM button one last time to save the time setting.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Press the /MODE button to turn the unit on or off.
Radio Operation (AM/FM)
- Press the /MODE button repeatedly until "FM" or "AM" appears on the display.
- Manual Tuning: Press the |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ buttons briefly to tune the frequency step by step.
- Auto Scan Tuning: Press and hold the |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ buttons for a few seconds. The radio will scan and stop at the next strong station.
- Volume Adjustment: Press V- or V+ buttons to adjust the listening volume.
Setting Radio Presets (10 AM / 10 FM)
- Tune to your desired station.
- Press and hold the TIME/MEM button. "P01" will flash on the display.
- Press |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ to select the desired preset number (P01-P10).
- Press TIME/MEM again to save the station to the selected preset.
- To recall a preset station, briefly press the TIME/MEM button repeatedly to cycle through the stored presets.
Alarm Settings (Alarm 1 & Alarm 2)
The JCR-160 features two independent alarms.
- Setting Alarm Time:
- In standby mode, press and hold V-/AL1 (for Alarm 1) or V+/AL2 (for Alarm 2). The alarm time will flash.
- Press |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ to adjust the hour. Observe the PM indicator.
- Press V-/AL1 or V+/AL2 again to confirm the hour. The minute digits will flash.
- Press |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ to adjust the minutes.
- Press V-/AL1 or V+/AL2 one last time to save the alarm time.
- Selecting Alarm Source (Radio or Buzzer):
- After setting the alarm time, press V-/AL1 or V+/AL2 again. The display will show the alarm source icon (radio or buzzer) flashing.
- Press |<< / TUN- or >>| / TUN+ to select either the radio icon (wake to radio) or the buzzer icon (wake to buzzer).
- Press V-/AL1 or V+/AL2 to confirm your selection. The corresponding alarm icon will light up, indicating the alarm is active.
- Disabling/Enabling Alarm:
- Briefly press V-/AL1 or V+/AL2 repeatedly in standby mode to toggle the alarm on or off. The alarm icon will appear or disappear from the display.

Snooze Function
When an alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE button to temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after the snooze period.
Stopping the Alarm
To stop the alarm completely, press the SNOOZE button twice, or press any other button (except SNOOZE). The alarm will reset for the next day.
Sleep Timer
The sleep timer allows you to fall asleep to the radio, which will automatically turn off after a set period.
- While the radio is playing, press the DIMMER/SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through sleep times: 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 minutes, or OFF.
- The "SLEEP" indicator will light up on the display.
- The radio will play for the selected duration and then automatically turn off.
Dimmer Function
To adjust the brightness of the LED display:
- In standby mode, briefly press the DIMMER/SLEEP button to toggle between high and low brightness settings.
Auxiliary Input
Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the JCR-160.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the headphone jack or line-out jack of your external audio device.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the AUX IN jack on the back of the JCR-160.
- Press the /MODE button repeatedly until "AUX" appears on the display.
- Start playback on your external device.
- Adjust the volume using the V- or V+ buttons on the JCR-160, and/or the volume control on your external device.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
Battery Care
- Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
Troubleshooting
