1. Setup

1.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the Fame SP-15 Stage Piano from its packaging. Retain all packing materials for future transport or storage. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.

1.2 Power Connection

1. Ensure the piano's power switch is in the OFF position.
2. Connect the included power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear panel of the piano.
3. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

1.3 Connecting Accessories

The Fame SP-15 offers various connection options for enhanced functionality:

• Headphones: Two 1/4-inch (Jack) headphone outputs are located on the front left side of the piano. Connect headphones for private practice.
• USB: A USB port is available on the rear panel for connecting to a computer for MIDI data transfer.
• Sustain Pedal: Connect a sustain pedal (not always included) to the dedicated sustain pedal jack on the rear panel for expressive playing.
• LINE IN/OUT: Use the LINE IN jacks to connect external audio sources and the LINE OUT jacks to connect to external amplification systems or recording devices.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER button located on the left side of the control panel to turn the instrument on or off.

2.2 Control Panel Overview

The control panel provides access to various functions and settings:

• Volume: Adjust the overall output volume using the dedicated knob.
• Tone/Rhythm: Select different instrument sounds (tones) or rhythm patterns.
• Demo: Play built-in demonstration songs.
• Function: Access advanced settings and parameters.
• Display: The LCD screen shows current settings, selected tones, and other information.
• Metronome: Activate the metronome for practice, adjusting tempo as needed.
• Transpose: Shift the pitch of the keyboard up or down in semitone steps.
• MP3: Control playback of MP3 files if connected via USB.

2.3 Touch Sensitivity

The Fame SP-15 features adjustable touch sensitivity to match your playing style. Options typically include Soft, Normal, and Hard, which can be selected via the Function menu or dedicated buttons if available. This feature controls how the piano responds to the force with which you strike the keys.

2.4 Recording Function

The instrument includes a recording capability. Refer to the Function menu and display for instructions on how to record and playback your performances. The MIDI-linear sequencer allows for structured recording.

2.5 MIDI Connectivity

The USB MIDI interface allows the SP-15 to communicate with computers and other MIDI-compatible devices. This enables the use of the piano as a MIDI controller for software instruments or for recording MIDI data into a digital audio workstation (DAW).

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning

To clean the instrument, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.

3.2 Storage

Store the Fame SP-15 in a dry, temperature-stable environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to cover the instrument to protect it from dust.

4. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Fame SP-15, please refer to the following common solutions:

• No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the piano and a working electrical outlet. Check the power switch position.
• No Sound: Verify the volume knob is turned up. Check if headphones are connected (which may mute the internal speakers). Ensure external amplification is properly connected and powered if using LINE OUT.
• Keys Not Responding: If specific keys are not responding, try restarting the instrument. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
• Distorted Sound: Check volume levels on both the piano and any connected external audio equipment to prevent clipping.
