2. Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when operating pressure washing equipment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.
- Read the Manual: Thoroughly read and understand the instructions for both the sewer jetter kit and your pressure washer before use.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses or goggles, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
- High Pressure Hazard: The sewer jetter operates at high pressure. Never direct the water stream at people, pets, or electrical equipment.
- Proper Connections: Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free before starting the pressure washer. Use the provided waterproof tape on threaded connections to prevent leaks.
- Not for Potable Water: Do not use this kit with potable (drinking) water lines.
- Clear Work Area: Keep the work area clear of bystanders and obstacles.
- Ventilation: When working in enclosed spaces, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent the buildup of harmful gases.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the work area.
3. Setup
Follow these steps to properly set up your Hourleey Sewer Jetter Kit:
- Prepare Pressure Washer: Ensure your pressure washer is turned off and disconnected from the power source (if electric) or has its engine off (if gas-powered). Relieve any residual pressure in the system.
- Connect Hose to Pressure Washer:
- If your pressure washer has an M22 connection, use the provided M22 female thread to 1/4" female thread coupler to connect the sewer jet hose directly to the pressure washer pump.
- Alternatively, connect the 1/4" quick connector to your pressure washer gun or wand, then attach the sewer jet hose to the quick connector.

- Apply Thread Seal Tape: For all threaded connections, wrap the provided waterproof tape (PTFE tape) around the male threads 3-5 times in the direction of the threads. This helps prevent leaks and ensures a secure seal.

- Attach Desired Nozzle: Select the appropriate nozzle for your cleaning task and securely screw it onto the end of the sewer jet hose. Use the provided spanners to tighten connections if necessary.
- Button Nose Nozzles (Orifice 4.0, 4.5, 5.5): These nozzles feature one front jet (0-degree spray angle) for clearing blockages and three rear jets (33-degree spray angle) to flush out debris and propel the hose forward.
- Rotating Nozzle: This nozzle has three rear 33-degree spray jets that rotate 360 degrees, providing an even cleaning and flushing action around the drain and sewer lines.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the kit is set up, follow these steps for effective drain cleaning:
- Insert Hose into Drain: Carefully feed the nozzle end of the sewer jet hose into the drain opening. For best results, insert the hose as far as possible before turning on the pressure washer.
- Turn on Pressure Washer: Start your pressure washer according to its manufacturer's instructions.
- Begin Jetting: Slowly feed the hose further into the pipe. The rear-facing jets will propel the hose forward and help clear debris. For stubborn blockages, gently push and pull the hose to work through the obstruction.
- Monitor Progress: Observe the water flow from the drain. As the blockage clears, water should flow more freely.
- Withdraw Hose: Once the drain is clear, slowly pull the hose out of the pipe while the pressure washer is still running to ensure all loosened debris is flushed away.
- Turn off Pressure Washer: Turn off your pressure washer and relieve any remaining pressure before disconnecting the hose.

- Inspect for Damage: Regularly check the hose, nozzles, and connectors for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace any damaged components immediately.
- Proper Storage: Coil the hose neatly and store the entire kit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues while using your sewer jetter kit, try these common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water pressure from nozzle | Nozzle clogged; Pressure washer not on/primed; Loose connections | Clear nozzle orifices with pin; Ensure pressure washer is operating correctly; Tighten all connections. |
| Hose not advancing | Severe blockage; Nozzle jets blocked; Insufficient water pressure | Gently work hose back and forth; Clear nozzle orifices; Check pressure washer output. |
| Water leaking from connections | Loose connection; Insufficient thread tape; Damaged O-ring/washer | Tighten connections with spanners; Reapply thread tape; Inspect and replace O-rings/washers if damaged. |
| Nozzle not rotating (rotating nozzle) | Debris inside nozzle; Low water pressure | Rinse nozzle thoroughly; Ensure adequate pressure from pressure washer. |
