1. Introduction

3. Setup Instructions
- Prepare the Filter: Remove the Brita Elite filter from its packaging. Rinse the filter under cold tap water for 15 seconds. This helps remove any carbon dust and prepares the filter for use.

- Insert the Filter: Align the groove on the filter with the ridge in the pitcher's reservoir. Press the filter firmly into the reservoir until it clicks into place.

- Fill the Pitcher: Fill the reservoir with cold tap water. The first two pitchers of filtered water may contain carbon dust and should be discarded or used for watering plants.
- Reset Filter Indicator: Locate the electronic SmartLight filter indicator on the lid. Press and hold the "RESET" button for 6 seconds for the Elite filter. The light will flash green, indicating the filter life has been reset.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Filling the Pitcher
To fill the pitcher, simply open the easy-fill locking lid and pour cold tap water into the reservoir. The lid is designed to prevent unwanted spills and allows for effortless refilling.
4.2 Pouring Water
Once the water has filtered through the Elite filter into the main pitcher, it is ready for consumption. The pitcher features a comfortable grip handle for easy pouring.

5. Filter Information
5.1 Brita Elite vs. Standard Filters
The Brita Metro Elite pitcher is compatible with both Brita Elite and Standard water filters. The Elite filter is designed to last longer and reduce more contaminants.
- Elite Filter: Replace after 120 gallons or approximately every six months. Reduces 30 contaminants, including 99% of lead, chlorine taste and odor, microplastics, select pharmaceuticals, pesticides, mercury, and cadmium.
- Standard Filter: Replace after 40 gallons or approximately every two months. Primarily reduces chlorine taste and odor.

5.2 SmartLight Filter Indicator
The electronic SmartLight indicator on the lid helps you track filter life:
- Green Light: Filter is working optimally.
- Yellow Light: Filter should be replaced soon.
- Red Light: Filter needs immediate replacement.
To reset the indicator after replacing the filter, press and hold the "RESET" button on the lid for the specified duration (6 seconds for Elite, 2 seconds for Standard).

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Pitcher
The pitcher can be easily cleaned by hand. Wash the pitcher, lid, and reservoir with mild dish soap and rinse thoroughly with water. Do not wash the filter in the dishwasher.
6.2 Filter Replacement
Replace your Brita filter according to the SmartLight indicator or the recommended lifespan (Elite: 6 months/120 gallons; Standard: 2 months/40 gallons) to ensure optimal water quality.
7. Troubleshooting
