Setup and Installation
The Dermum Sifely X1 Smart Door Lock is designed for DIY installation with minimal tools. A Phillips screwdriver is typically the only tool required. No extra drilling or locksmith is needed for standard installations.
Door Compatibility
- Door Thickness: 1 5/16" to 2" (33mm - 50mm)
- Bore Hole Diameter: 2 1/8" (54mm)
- Bore Hole Backset: 2 3/8" (60mm) or 2 3/4" (70mm)
The door handle is reversible for both left and right-handed doors. Due to the lock's size, it may interfere with screen doors or storm doors. If an existing deadbolt is present, install the smart lock on the top bore hole and move the deadbolt to the bottom bore hole to avoid installation issues.

General Installation Steps (Refer to video for details)
- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door meets the specified dimensions. Adjust the bolt length of the latch if necessary (between 2 3/8" and 2 3/4" backset).
- Install the Latch: Slide the latch bolt into the door edge and secure it with screws. Ensure the spindle hole is squarely straight to the ground.
- Adjust Handle Direction: Adjust the front and back handles to the correct left (L) or right (R) side orientation for your door.
- Install Front Panel: Slide the lock spindle through the latch and route the cable above the bolt.
- Install Mounting Plate: Thread the wire connector through the cable hole in the mounting plate and secure the plate to the door.
- Connect Wires and Install Back Panel: Connect the wire connector. Carefully tuck any extra wire into the cable hole. Install the back panel, ensuring the spindle aligns correctly. Secure the back panel with screws.
- Install Batteries: Open the battery box cover on the back panel and insert 4 AA batteries. Close the cover.
- Final Check: Remove the screen protection film. Test the lock's functionality using the default passcode and physical key before closing the door.

Unlocking Methods
The Dermum Sifely X1 Smart Door Lock offers five convenient ways to unlock your door:
- Fingerprint: Designed for quick and secure access. Simply place your thumb on the patented fingerprint sensor on the handle and turn to open. The lock recognizes prints and opens in one step.
- Passcode: Use the digital keypad to enter your personalized passcode. The anti-peeping code combination feature allows you to enter random digits before or after your actual code to prevent others from guessing it.
- Key Fob: Present the included key fob to the keypad for quick entry.
- Physical Key: For traditional access or in case of electronic issues, use the provided physical keys.
- Smartphone App: Control your lock directly from the Sifely Smart Lock App via Bluetooth.

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace all four AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when the lock's performance degrades. Always use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.
- Cleaning: Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
- Fingerprint Sensor: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.
- Moving Parts: Do not lubricate the lock cylinder or internal mechanisms with oil-based lubricants. If the mechanism feels stiff, consult customer support.
Troubleshooting
- Lock Not Responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are depleted, use the physical key or connect a power bank to the emergency power port.
- Fingerprint Not Recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint.
- Keypad Not Lighting Up: Touch the screen to activate. If it still doesn't light up, check battery connections or replace batteries.
- Auto-Lock Malfunction: Verify auto-lock settings in the Sifely Smart Lock App. Ensure the door sensor (if applicable) is clean and unobstructed.
- App Connectivity Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and you are within range of the lock. If using the WiFi Gateway, ensure it is properly connected to your home network.
- Lock is Stuck/Won't Open: First, try the physical key. If the issue persists, do not force the handle. Contact customer support immediately.
