Setup

1. Initial Cleaning:

Before first use, gently clean the inside of the mask lenses with a mild abrasive toothpaste (non-gel) or a specialized mask defogging solution. Rub gently with your finger for several minutes, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water. This removes manufacturing residues that can cause fogging.

2. Strap Adjustment:

Place the mask gently on your face without the strap over your head. Inhale slightly through your nose; the mask should suction to your face without holding it. Adjust the silicone strap using the Cardanic Joint Buckles on both sides until it is snug but not overly tight. The strap should rest comfortably above your ears, around the widest part of your head.

3. Fit Test:

Ensure the silicone skirt forms a complete seal around your face. There should be no gaps, especially around the temples or under the nose. A proper fit prevents water leakage and ensures comfort during use.

Operating Instructions

1. Donning the Mask:

1. Hold the mask by the frame with one hand.
2. Place the mask over your eyes and nose.
3. Pull the strap over your head with your free hand, ensuring it lies flat and is not twisted.
4. Adjust the strap for a comfortable, watertight seal.

2. Clearing the Mask Underwater:

1. Press the top of the mask frame firmly against your forehead.
2. Exhale slowly and steadily through your nose.
3. The exhaled air will push any water out from the bottom of the mask.

3. Equalization:

As you descend, pressure increases. To equalize the pressure in your ears and mask, gently pinch your nose through the mask's nose pocket and blow gently. This helps prevent discomfort and potential injury.

4. Removing the Mask:

To remove the mask, pull the strap forward and up over your head. Then, gently lift the mask away from your face.

Maintenance

1. Rinsing After Use:

After each use, rinse your mask thoroughly with fresh, clean water. This removes salt, chlorine, and other residues that can degrade the silicone and lenses over time.

2. Drying:

Allow the mask to air dry completely in a cool, shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause the silicone to yellow and become brittle.

3. Storage:

Store your mask in a protective case or bag to prevent scratches to the lenses and damage to the silicone skirt. Keep it away from extreme temperatures, chemicals, and sharp objects.

4. Avoid Harsh Chemicals:

Do not use alcohol, solvents, or petroleum-based products to clean your mask, as these can damage the silicone and lens materials.

Troubleshooting

Mask Leaks:

• Check Fit: Ensure the mask skirt is properly sealed against your face, with no hair or mask strap caught underneath.
• Over-tightening: An overly tight strap can distort the skirt and cause leaks. Loosen the strap slightly.
• Facial Hair: Facial hair (e.g., mustache) can break the seal. Consider applying a thin layer of silicone grease to the area or trimming hair.

Mask Fogging:

• Initial Cleaning: Ensure the mask was properly cleaned before first use to remove manufacturing residues.
• Anti-fog Solution: Apply a commercial anti-fog solution or a small amount of saliva to the inside of the lenses before each dive, then rinse lightly.
• Temperature: Rapid temperature changes can cause fogging. Allow the mask to acclimate to the water temperature.

Discomfort:

• Strap Tension: Loosen the strap if it feels too tight. The mask should be held in place by suction, not excessive strap tension.
• Equalization: Ensure you are equalizing pressure regularly during descent to prevent discomfort in your ears and around your eyes.
