Operating Instructions
Basic Vacuum Sealing (Dry Food):
Follow these four simple steps for vacuum sealing dry foods:

- Prepare the Bag: Place the food item into a vacuum sealer bag. Ensure the open end of the bag is clean and dry.
- Position the Bag: Place the open end of the vacuum bag flat into the vacuum chamber of the appliance. Ensure it is centered and not wrinkled.
- Close and Lock: Close the appliance lid firmly until both sides click into place, indicating it is locked.
- Select Mode: Press the 'Dry' button for dry food items. The appliance will automatically vacuum the air and then seal the bag.
- Finish: Once the indicator light turns off, the process is complete. Press the release buttons on both sides to open the lid and remove the sealed bag.
Vacuum Sealing (Moist Food):
For moist or wet food items, use the 'Wet' mode. This mode adjusts the sealing time to ensure a proper seal despite the presence of moisture. Follow the same steps as for dry food, but select the 'Wet' button instead of 'Dry'.
Sealing Only:
To seal a bag without vacuuming, for example, to reseal snack bags, press the 'Seal' button. The appliance will only heat seal the bag without removing air.
Using the Accessory Port (External Vacuum):
The VS2000 includes an accessory port for vacuum sealing containers, jars, or special bags with a valve. Connect the external suction tube to the accessory port on the machine and to the container/bag. Press the 'Accessory' button to begin vacuuming. The machine will stop automatically or can be stopped manually.
Food Preservation Guidelines
Vacuum sealing significantly extends the shelf life of various food items by removing oxygen, which is a primary cause of spoilage.

|---|---|---|
| Dried Fruit / Nuts | 2-3 Days | 25-30 Days |
| Seafood / Meat | 2-3 Days | 7 Days |

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your vacuum sealer.
Cleaning Instructions:
- Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Wipe Surfaces: Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap to wipe down the exterior of the appliance.
- Clean Vacuum Chamber: Carefully wipe the vacuum chamber and sealing strip to remove any food residue or moisture. Ensure these areas are completely dry before closing the lid or using the appliance again.
- Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
Storage:
The Bonsenkitchen VS2000 features a compact design for convenient storage.

Store the appliance in a dry, cool place. For optimal storage, ensure the lid is not fully latched to prevent compression of the sealing gaskets, which can lead to deformation over time.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Bonsenkitchen VS2000, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet issue. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check the outlet with another appliance. |
| Vacuum sealer does not vacuum. | Lid not properly closed; bag not correctly positioned; bag is damaged. | Ensure the lid is firmly closed and locked. Reposition the bag so the open end is flat within the vacuum chamber. Check the bag for holes or tears. |
| Bag does not seal properly. | Sealing strip dirty/wet; bag end is wet; incorrect mode selected. | Clean and dry the sealing strip. Ensure the open end of the bag is completely dry. For moist foods, use 'Wet' mode. |
| Air leaks into the bag after sealing. | Improper seal; sharp food edges; bag material issue. | Ensure a clean, wrinkle-free seal. Pad sharp food items with a paper towel. Use high-quality vacuum sealer bags. |
| Machine overheats. | Continuous use without cooling. | Allow the machine to cool down for 20-30 seconds between sealing cycles, especially after multiple consecutive seals. |
