Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble the guide bar and chain:

1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw.
2. Place the chainsaw on a flat, stable surface.
3. Remove the chain cover by loosening the two nuts.
4. Carefully place the chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction (refer to chain markings).
5. Align the guide bar over the studs and ensure the chain fits into the groove of the guide bar.
6. Replace the chain cover and hand-tighten the nuts. Do not fully tighten yet.
7. Adjust chain tension using the tensioning screw. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the bar by hand.
8. Once tension is correct, fully tighten the chain cover nuts.

Setup

Battery Installation and Charging

1. Insert the FLEXVOLT 5 Ah battery into the charger.
2. Plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status.
3. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.
4. Align the battery with the battery port on the chainsaw and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
5. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

Adding Chain Oil

1. Ensure the battery is removed.
2. Locate the oil reservoir cap on the chainsaw.
3. Unscrew the cap and fill the reservoir with high-quality bar and chain oil. Do not use waste oil or motor oil.
4. Replace the cap securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting the Chainsaw:
