2. Safety Information
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
2.1 General Power Tool Safety
- Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
- Electrical Safety: This is a cordless tool. Ensure batteries are charged in a well-ventilated area. Do not expose battery packs or tools to fire or excessive temperature.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection (safety glasses or goggles) and hearing protection. Use a dust mask if operations create dust. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry.
2.2 Circular Saw Specific Safety
- Hold the tool firmly: Always hold the circular saw with both hands to maintain control, especially during start-up and cutting.
- Keep hands away from cutting area: Never reach underneath the workpiece or near the blade while the saw is operating.
- Ensure blade guard is functioning: The lower guard should automatically close over the blade when the saw is removed from the workpiece. Never jam or tie the guard in the open position.
- Secure workpiece: Always clamp or otherwise secure the workpiece to a stable platform. Do not hold the workpiece by hand or across your leg.
- Avoid kickback: Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound, or misaligned saw blade. Always maintain a firm grip, position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces.
- Use correct blade: Only use blades that are the correct size and type for the material being cut and for the saw. The included blade is 190mm with a 30mm bore.

This image shows the rear of the AEG circular saw, providing a clear view of the battery port where the PRO18V battery pack is inserted. The handle and dust ejection port are also visible.
3.3 Blade Installation
Always disconnect the battery pack before installing or changing the blade.
- Press the spindle lock button to prevent the blade from rotating.
- Use the provided wrench to loosen the blade retaining screw by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Remove the outer flange and the old blade (if applicable).
- Clean the blade flanges.
- Place the new 190mm blade onto the spindle, ensuring the teeth are pointing in the direction of rotation (indicated by an arrow on the blade guard).
- Replace the outer flange and tighten the blade retaining screw clockwise. Ensure it is securely fastened.
3.4 Adjusting Cutting Depth and Bevel Angle
The saw allows for precise adjustment of cutting depth and bevel angle for various applications.
- Cutting Depth Adjustment: Loosen the depth adjustment lever, move the base plate up or down to achieve the desired cutting depth, and then securely tighten the lever.
- Bevel Angle Adjustment: Loosen the bevel adjustment lever, tilt the base plate to the desired angle (up to 56 degrees), and then securely tighten the lever.
3.5 Parallel Guide Installation
The parallel guide assists in making straight cuts parallel to the edge of the workpiece.
- Slide the parallel guide into the slots on the front of the saw's base plate.
- Adjust the guide to the desired width from the blade.
- Tighten the locking screw to secure the parallel guide in place.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Operation
- Starting the Saw: Ensure the battery is inserted. Depress the safety lock-off button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch to start the saw.
- Stopping the Saw: Release the trigger switch. The blade will stop quickly due to the electric brake.
4.2 Cutting Techniques
Always ensure the workpiece is stable and properly supported before cutting.

5.2 Blade Care and Replacement
- Inspect the blade regularly for sharpness, cracks, or missing teeth. A dull or damaged blade can cause kickback and poor cut quality.
- Replace worn or damaged blades promptly. Refer to Section 3.3 for blade installation instructions.
- Ensure the blade is clean and free of resin buildup, which can affect cutting performance.
5.3 General Inspection
- Check all screws and fasteners for tightness. Tighten any loose screws.
- Inspect the power cord (if using a corded charger) for damage.
- Ensure the blade guard moves freely and returns to its closed position automatically.
