2. Compatibility
The Microlife XLSC replacement cuff is clinically tested for accuracy with all Microlife automatic upper arm blood pressure monitors. It is not compatible with manual/aneroid, professional upper arm, or wrist blood pressure units.
The cuff includes three different connectors to ensure compatibility with various Microlife manufactured upper arm blood pressure monitors.

Below the table, various cuff connectors are displayed, illustrating that replacement cuffs are compatible with all Microlife blood pressure monitors.
3. Cuff Sizing and Fit
Correct cuff fit is essential for obtaining accurate blood pressure readings. An improperly sized cuff can lead to incorrect measurements.
3.1 How to Measure Your Arm
To determine the correct cuff size, wrap a fabric measuring tape around the thickest part of your upper arm. The Microlife XLSC cuff is designed to fit arm circumferences between 12.6 inches (32 cm) and 20.5 inches (52 cm).

4. Setup and Features
4.1 Cuff Features
- Soft Fabric: Gentle on your skin for comfortable use.
- Latex-Free: Made without natural rubber latex.
- D-Ring: Facilitates easy adjustment of the cuff size.
- Artery Mark: Helps properly align the cuff to the brachial artery.

4.2 Connecting the Cuff
Select the appropriate connector from the three provided that matches your Microlife blood pressure monitor. Firmly insert the cuff's air tube into the monitor's air jack. Ensure a secure connection to prevent air leakage during measurement.
5. Operating Instructions: Applying the Cuff
Follow these steps to correctly apply the blood pressure cuff for an accurate reading:
- Step 1: Position the Cuff
Slide the cuff onto your upper arm. The bottom edge of the cuff should be approximately 1/2 inch (1-2 cm) above your elbow. Ensure the artery mark on the cuff is positioned directly over your brachial artery. - Step 2: Tighten the Cuff
Tighten the cuff until it is snug against your arm, but not overly tight. You should be able to fit two fingers comfortably between the cuff and your arm. The contoured design and Grip-Strips help keep the cuff in place. - Step 3: Prepare for Measurement
Sit down and relax. Rest your arm, with the cuff applied, palm up on a table or flat surface. Follow the specific instructions provided with your Microlife blood pressure monitor to initiate the measurement process.

6. Care and Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and hygiene of your Microlife blood pressure cuff, follow these care instructions:
- Cleaning: The cuff is made from durable, easy-to-clean fabric. Wipe the cuff surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse the cuff in water or use harsh chemical cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the cuff to air dry completely before storing or using it again.
- Storage: Store the cuff in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the cuff for any signs of wear, damage, or air leaks. If damage is observed, replace the cuff to maintain accuracy.
7. Troubleshooting
If you experience inaccurate readings or issues with your blood pressure monitor, consider the following:
- Incorrect Cuff Size: Ensure your arm circumference falls within the 12.6" - 20.5" range for this XL cuff. An ill-fitting cuff is a common cause of inaccurate readings. Refer to Section 3 for guidance on measuring your arm.
- Improper Cuff Application: Verify that the cuff is positioned correctly, snug but not too tight, and the artery mark is aligned. Review Section 5 for detailed application steps.
- Air Leaks: Check all connections between the cuff and the monitor for any looseness or damage that could cause air to leak, affecting inflation and measurement accuracy.
- Cuff Wear: Over time, cuffs can wear out and develop small leaks. If your cuff is old or frequently used, it may need replacement.
- Monitor Issues: If the cuff appears to be in good condition and applied correctly, consult your blood pressure monitor's instruction manual for further troubleshooting specific to the device.
