4. Product Overview

4.3 LCD Display

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the device.
- Insert the two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the MEAS button briefly.
- Power Off: Long press the CLEAR/OFF button. The device will also automatically shut down after 180 seconds of inactivity to conserve power.
6.2 Single Distance Measurement
- Power on the device.
- Ensure the desired reference point (front or rear of the device) is selected using the Reference Point button.
- Aim the laser at the target point.
- Press the MEAS button once. The measured distance will be displayed on the screen.
6.3 Measurement Modes
The MiLESEEY D5 offers various measurement functions. Press the Function Button to cycle through the modes.

- Continuous Measurement: Displays real-time distance as the device moves. Press MEAS to start/stop.
- Area Measurement: Measure two sides (length and width), and the device automatically calculates the area.
- Volume Measurement: Measure three sides (length, width, height), and the device automatically calculates the volume.
- Pythagorean Measurement (Indirect Measurement):
- Single Pythagorean: Measure the hypotenuse and one leg to calculate the other leg (e.g., height).
- Double Pythagorean: Measure two hypotenuses and one segment to calculate a height.
- Auto-Level: Measures the hypotenuse, and the horizontal distance and vertical height are automatically calculated using the electronic angle sensor.
- Auto-Height: Measures two hypotenuses, and the vertical height is automatically calculated.
- Addition/Subtraction: Press the +/- button to add or subtract measurements. Perform a measurement, then press +/-, then another measurement. The result will be displayed.

6.4 Unit Switching
The device supports multiple units of measurement.
- Long press the UNIT button.
- The units will cycle through meters (m), feet (ft), inches (in), and feet+inches (ft+in).
- Release the button when the desired unit is displayed.
