4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The Klein Tools 93LDM100C requires batteries for operation. Ensure the device is powered off before installing or replacing batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the device.
- Open the cover.
- Insert the required alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To power on the device, press the single button. The display will illuminate.
- To power off the device, press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds. The device will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.
5.2 Basic Single Measurement
- Power on the device.
- Point the laser beam at the target surface.
- Press the button once. The laser will activate, and the measurement will be displayed on the screen.
- The measurement will be saved, and the previous two measurements will also be visible on the display.

5.3 Continuous Measurement (Tracking)
- Power on the device.
- Press and hold the button for approximately 1 second until the continuous measurement icon appears on the display.
- Move the device slowly towards or away from the target. The display will update in real-time, showing the current distance.
- To stop continuous measurement, press the button again. The last displayed measurement will be held.
5.4 Switching Measurement Units
To cycle through available measurement units (inches, feet and inches, meters), quickly double-press the button while the device is powered on and not actively measuring. The unit displayed on the screen will change with each double-press.
5.5 Measurement Reference Point
The device can measure from either its front or its back edge. To switch the reference point, quickly triple-press the button. An icon on the display will indicate whether the measurement is taken from the front or the back of the device.

6. Maintenance
