1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Keyboard

1. Locate the USB-C port on the back of the Xtrfy K5 keyboard.
2. Connect the provided braided USB-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port.
3. Plug the USB-A end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer or gaming console.
4. The keyboard will automatically be recognized and ready for use.

3.2 Adjusting Keyboard Height

The Xtrfy K5 keyboard features kick-out feet on its underside, allowing you to adjust the typing angle for improved ergonomics.

1. Gently lift the back of the keyboard.
2. Flip out the two kick-out feet located at the rear corners of the keyboard.
3. Ensure both feet are securely extended to maintain stability.

4. Operating the Keyboard

4.1 RGB Lighting Control

The Xtrfy K5 features per-key customizable RGB lighting. You can adjust lighting effects and brightness directly from the keyboard without needing additional software.

• Boosting RGB Lighting: To boost the RGB lighting, press and hold the FN key, then press the USB 2.0 key for 2 seconds.
• Refer to the Quick Start Guide for a full list of lighting effects and control shortcuts.

4.2 Hot-Swappable Switches

The K5 keyboard allows for easy replacement of mechanical switches without soldering. This feature enables you to customize the feel and sound of your keyboard.

1. Remove the Magnetic Logo Plate: Gently pull off the small magnetic logo plate located in the top right corner of the keyboard.
2. Remove the Top Frame: Carefully unclip and remove the translucent top frame of the keyboard. This provides easier access to the keycaps and switches.
3. Remove Keycaps: Use the provided keycap puller tool to gently pull off the desired keycaps.
4. Remove Switches: Use the switch puller end of the tool to carefully extract the mechanical switches from the PCB.
5. Install New Switches: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place.
6. Install New Keycaps: Press the new keycaps onto the installed switches.
7. Reattach Frame and Logo Plate: Clip the top frame back into place and reattach the magnetic logo plate.

4.3 Super-Scan Technology

The K5's super-scan technology ensures that every keystroke is registered instantly, providing a competitive edge in fast-paced gaming. This is an inherent feature of the keyboard and requires no user configuration.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

Regular cleaning helps maintain the performance and appearance of your keyboard.

• General Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the surface of the keyboard.
• Deep Cleaning: For thorough cleaning, remove the keycaps using the provided keycap puller. You can then use compressed air to clear debris from underneath the keys. Wipe the keycaps with a damp cloth and allow them to dry completely before reattaching.

5.2 Replacing Switches and Keycaps

As detailed in Section 4.2, the hot-swappable design allows for easy replacement of switches and keycaps. This is useful for maintenance, such as replacing a faulty switch, or for customization purposes.

• Keyboard Not Responding:
  • Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer/console.
  • Try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port.

  • Ensure the keyboard is receiving sufficient power from the USB port.
