1. Introduction

The ResMed AirFit F30i Standard Frame System is designed as a replacement component for the ResMed AirFit F30i full-face CPAP mask. 2. Important Safety Information and Warnings

WARNING: Magnetic Interference Risk

Keep the mask magnets at a safe distance of at least 6 inches (150 mm) away from implants or medical devices that may be adversely affected by magnetic interference. This warning applies to you or anyone in close physical contact with your mask. The magnets are located in the frame and lower headgear clips, with a magnetic field strength of up to 400mT. While designed to secure the mask, they may inadvertently detach during sleep.

Contraindications:

Masks with magnetic components are contraindicated for use by patients, or anyone in close physical contact while using the mask, who have the following:

  • Active medical implants that interact with magnets (e.g., pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD), neurostimulators, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunts, insulin/infusion pumps).
  • Metallic implants/objects containing ferromagnetic material (e.g., aneurysm clips/flow disruption devices, embolic coils, stents, valves, electrodes, implants to restore hearing or balance with implanted magnets, ocular implants, metallic splinters in the eye).

3. Product Components

The AirFit F30i Frame System consists of the flexible frame that connects the cushion to the air tubing. It features a tube-up design for enhanced freedom of movement. This system is a replacement part and does not include the mask cushion or headgear, which must be purchased separately or used from your existing AirFit F30i mask.

4. Setup and Assembly

To set up your ResMed AirFit F30i Standard Frame System, follow these steps:

  1. Verify Size: Before assembly, ensure you have the correct cushion size and frame size for your mask. The frame system is designed to fit specific cushion sizes.
  2. Attach Cushion: Carefully align the cushion with the frame system and press them together until they securely click into place. Ensure a snug fit to prevent air leaks.
  3. Connect Headgear: If you are using existing headgear, attach it to the designated connection points on the frame system. Adjust the headgear straps for a comfortable and secure fit without overtightening.
  4. Connect Tubing: Attach your CPAP machine's air tubing to the top-of-head connection port on the frame system.

5. Operating Instructions

Once assembled, place the mask on your face and adjust the headgear to achieve a comfortable seal. The top-of-head tube connection allows for greater freedom of movement during sleep, as the air tubing is kept away from your body. Ensure the mask is not too tight, as this can cause discomfort and pressure marks, or too loose, which can lead to air leaks.

  • Daily Cleaning: If required, gently wipe the outside of the foam components with CPAP wipes or similar alcohol-free wipes.
  • Drying: Lay the frame system flat on a clean towel to air dry completely before next use.

Important Care Notes:

  • ✘ Do not expose to direct sunlight.
  • ✘ Do not put in a dishwasher or washing machine.
  • ✘ Do not use alcohol or bleach to clean.

Replacement Schedule:

It is recommended to replace your frame system every 3 months. Consider replacing sooner if you observe any of the following signs:

  • You are experiencing excessive leaks.
  • Your therapy feels less effective than usual.
  • The frame system starts to show visible wear and tear (e.g., cracks, discoloration, loss of elasticity).

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your AirFit F30i frame system, consider the following:

  • Excessive Leaks: Check if the cushion is properly seated within the frame. Inspect the frame and cushion for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure headgear is adjusted correctly, not too loose or too tight. Refer to the replacement schedule if components are old.
  • Discomfort or Pressure Marks: Re-adjust the headgear to ensure it is not overtightened. The frame should sit comfortably on your face without causing undue pressure.
  • Reduced Therapy Effectiveness: This could indicate leaks or general wear of the mask components. Inspect all parts for deterioration and consider replacing the frame system or cushion as per the recommended schedule.

For persistent issues, consult your healthcare provider or contact ResMed customer support.
