2. Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electric tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.

  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection (safety goggles) and hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs). Use a dust mask if operations create dust. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry. Secure long hair.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Vibration Damping Technology (VDT): This tool features VDT to reduce vibration. However, prolonged use can still cause vibration-related injuries. Take regular breaks and use appropriate gloves.
  • Safety Clutch: The integrated safety clutch reduces sudden kickback if the drill bit jams. Always maintain a firm grip on the tool.
  • Double Insulation: This tool is double-insulated for enhanced electrical safety. Do not bypass or modify this feature.

6.1 Selecting Operating Mode

Use the multi-function selector button located on the side of the tool to choose the desired mode. Rotate the button to align with the icon for each function.

  • Drilling Mode (Drill Icon): For drilling in materials like wood, metal, and plastic. Use with the standard chuck adapter and appropriate drill bits.
  • Hammer Drilling Mode (Drill & Hammer Icon): For drilling in hard materials such as concrete, stone, and masonry. Use with SDS-Plus drill bits.
  • Chiseling Mode (Chisel Icon): For light chiseling, chipping, or breaking concrete and masonry. Use with SDS-Plus chisels.
  • Chisel Angle Adjustment Mode (Chisel with Arrow Icon): Allows you to rotate and lock the chisel at different angles for optimal working positions. This mode does not engage the hammer action.

6.2 Speed Control

The tool features 6-speed settings. Adjust the speed dial to match the material and application. Lower speeds are suitable for larger diameters or softer materials, while higher speeds are for smaller diameters or harder materials.

6.3 General Operation Tips

  • Always hold the tool firmly with both hands, using the main handle and the auxiliary handle.
  • Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.
  • Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or stable before drilling or chiseling.
  • For hammer drilling and chiseling, allow the tool's impact mechanism to do the work.
  • Regularly check the depth gauge to ensure accurate drilling depth.
