5. Setup

Battery Installation:

The SONEL VT-2 requires two AAA 1.5V batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install or replace the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover, usually at the rear or bottom of the device.
  2. Open the battery compartment by sliding or unscrewing the cover.
  3. Insert two AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The device will automatically power on when batteries are correctly installed. A green LED may illuminate to indicate readiness.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

The VT-2 typically powers on automatically when batteries are inserted. Some models may have a power button. Refer to the device markings for specific power controls.

6.2 Non-Contact Voltage Detection

To detect AC voltage:

  1. Ensure the device is powered on and functioning (test on a known live source first).
  2. Hold the voltage indicator by its body and bring the detection tip close to the conductor, outlet, or circuit you wish to test.
  3. If AC voltage is present within the 90-1000V range, the device will provide both visual and audible indications. The tip will glow red, and an audible buzzer will sound.
  4. The intensity of the visual and audible signals may vary with voltage strength and proximity.
