Setup Guide
Before You Begin
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. (5GHz networks are not supported).
- Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app from your device's app store (available on iOS and Android).
- Have 2 AAA batteries ready for each sensor.
Installation Steps
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment of the main sensor unit and insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment.
- Pair with App:
- Open the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app and register or log in.
- Tap "+" or "Add Device" in the app.
- Select "Security & Sensor" > "Contact Sensor (Wi-Fi)".
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect the sensor to your Wi-Fi network. The sensor's indicator light will flash during pairing.
- Once connected, you can rename the sensor for easy identification (e.g., "Front Door Sensor").
- Mount the Sensor:
- Identify the desired location on your door or window frame. The main unit and magnetic strip must be aligned and within 0.7 cm (0.27 inches) of each other when the door/window is closed.
- Clean the surface thoroughly before mounting.
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive backing on both the main unit and the magnetic strip.
- Attach the main unit to the fixed part of the door/window frame and the magnetic strip to the moving part (door/window) so they align when closed.
- Test the Sensor: Open and close the door/window. Check your app for instant notifications indicating the status change.
