4.2.1 Dry Ironing
For dry ironing, ensure the water tank is empty or the steam selector is set to the 'Dry Iron' position. Select the appropriate temperature and wait for the indicator light to turn off before ironing.
4.2.2 Steam Ironing

The self-cleaning function helps remove mineral deposits and impurities from the steam vents. Perform this function monthly or as needed.
- Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
- Plug in the iron and set the temperature to the highest setting.
- Once the iron reaches maximum temperature (indicator light turns off), unplug it.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the self-clean button (if available, otherwise use the burst of steam button repeatedly) until all water has drained from the tank, carrying out impurities.
- Move the iron back and forth to ensure all water is expelled.
- Plug the iron back in and allow it to heat up again to dry out any remaining water.
- Unplug and store once cooled.
5.2 Cleaning the Soleplate
To clean the soleplate, ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use harsh scouring pads or metallic cleaners as they can damage the soleplate.

5.3 Storage
After each use, empty any remaining water from the tank. Allow the iron to cool completely before storing it upright in a safe, dry place. Do not wrap the cord tightly around the iron while it is still warm.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your iron, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet malfunction; temperature dial set to 'OFF' or too low. | Ensure iron is securely plugged in. Check power outlet with another appliance. Turn temperature dial to a fabric setting. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low for steam; steam selector set to 'Dry Iron'. | Fill water tank. Set temperature to a steam-compatible setting (wool, cotton, linen). Move steam selector to desired steam level. |
| Water leaks from soleplate. | Water tank overfilled; temperature too low for steam; iron left horizontally with water. | Do not overfill the water tank. Ensure temperature is high enough for steam. Store iron upright after use. |
| Iron sticks to fabric. | Temperature too high for fabric type; soleplate is dirty. | Adjust temperature according to fabric care label. Clean the soleplate as described in Section 5.2. |
