The FreedConn TCOM VB headset offers flexible installation options to suit various helmet types. You can choose between a Velcro clip or a hook clip for mounting.

Mounting the Headset Unit

Initial Setup and Pairing

Pairing with a Mobile Phone

To use your FreedConn TCOM VB headset for calls or music, you must first pair it with your mobile phone.

  1. Power On and Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the power on button for approximately 3 to 4 seconds until the indicator light flashes alternately between red and blue. This indicates the device is in pairing mode.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on Phone: On your mobile phone, go to the Bluetooth settings and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
  3. Select 'T-COM' to Connect: In the list of available Bluetooth devices on your phone, find and select "T-COM" to connect. If prompted, confirm the pairing.
  4. Confirmation: Once successfully paired, the indicator light on the headset will typically show a steady blue light or flash blue slowly.

Operating Instructions

Intercom Pairing and Usage

The TCOM VB supports intercom communication between multiple riders.

Two-Rider Intercom Pairing

  1. Enter Pairing Mode: On both headsets (A and B), press and hold the power button for 3-4 seconds until the indicator flashes red and blue.
  2. Initiate Pairing: Press the power button on either headset (A or B) to start searching for the other device.
  3. Confirmation: Once paired, the red and blue flashing will change to a blue flash. The devices are now connected for intercom.
  4. Exit Intercom: To exit intercom status, press the power button on either device.

Three-Rider Intercom Pairing

To establish a three-way intercom, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Pair A with B: First, pair headset A with headset B as described in the two-rider pairing section. After successful pairing, turn both A and B off.
  2. Pair A with C: Next, pair headset A with headset C. After successful pairing, turn both A and C off.
  3. Pair B with C: Then, turn on headsets B and C and pair them. After successful pairing, turn both B and C off.
  4. Activate Three-Way Intercom: Turn on all three headsets (A, B, and C). Ensure they are all in "on" status.
  5. Connect A and C: If A and C want to talk, first press the on/off button on C to disconnect it with B. Then, press the on/off button on A to enter intercom mode with C.
  6. Connect A and B: If A and B want to talk, first press the on/off button on A to disconnect it with C. Then, double-press the on/off button on A to enter intercom mode with B.
  7. Connect B and C: If B and C want to talk, first press the on/off button on B to disconnect it with A. Then, double-press the on/off button on B to enter intercom mode with C.
  8. Connect C and A: If C and A want to talk, first double-press the on/off button on C to disconnect it with B. Then, double-press the on/off button on C to enter intercom mode with A.

Pairing New and Old TCOM Versions

To pair a new Bluetooth 5.0 version (A) with an old Bluetooth 3.0 version (B) TCOM headset:

  1. Old Version Pairing Mode: Long press the "B" button on the OLD version (B) for 8 seconds until you see the red and blue light flashing. You will hear a voice prompt "Beep".
  2. New Version Pairing Mode: Hold down the power on/off button of the NEW version (A) for 2 seconds to start the machine. Then, hold down the multi-function button of A for 8 seconds to enter the pairing state. You will hear a voice prompt "pairing".
  3. Connect: The devices will automatically connect. When you hear the "connected" prompt, A and B are successfully paired, and you can start talking.
  4. Stop Talking: Click on the power on/off button of device A to stop talking between A and B.

Music Sharing

Music sharing is possible between two paired headsets. Ensure that only two headsets are paired and not a third T-COM unit. Exit intercom status after pairing for music sharing.

  1. Connect to Mobile: Ensure both headsets are connected to their respective mobile phones and are playing music.
  2. Initiate Sharing: The rider who wishes to share their music should double-click the headset's multi-function button.
  3. Receive Shared Music: The person receiving the shared music must stop their own music playback to hear the shared audio.
  4. Turn Off Sharing: To stop music sharing, double-click the multi-function button on the headset that initiated the sharing.

Phone Call Operations

Manage your phone calls directly from your headset.

  • Automatic Answer: Incoming calls will be automatically answered if the phone rings for 15 seconds without any manual operation.
