4. Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure your grill is completely cool and disconnected from its fuel source. It is recommended to wear protective gloves.

Installation Steps:

  1. Remove Old Parts: Carefully remove the existing grill grates, heat plates, burner tubes, and crossover tubes. Note their original positions for reference.
  2. Clean Grill Interior: Thoroughly clean the inside of your grill, removing any grease, debris, or rust.
  3. Install Burner Tubes: Place the new burner tubes into their designated slots. Ensure they are securely seated over the gas valve orifices.
  4. Install Crossover Tubes: Attach the adjustable crossover tubes between the burner tubes. Adjust their length to fit properly, typically between 5 to 9 inches.
  5. Install Ignitors: Clip the new ignitors to the burner tubes. Connect the igniter wires to the appropriate terminals on your grill's ignition module. Ensure the wires are routed safely away from hot surfaces.
  6. Install Heat Plates: Position the new heat plates over the burner tubes. Ensure they sit correctly on their supports.
  7. Replace Grill Grates: Place your grill grates back into position.
  8. Leak Test: After installation, reconnect the gas supply and perform a leak test using a soapy water solution on all gas connections. Do not use an open flame for leak testing.
