3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your WEP 927-IV Soldering Station:
- Place the soldering station body on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Insert the soldering iron into its holder.
- Attach the helping hands and LED magnifier to their designated ports on the station.
- Place the brasswool tip cleaner and cleaning sponge in their respective compartments.
- Install the solder wire onto the dispenser.
- Organize extra tips in the tip storage block.
- Connect the power cord to the station and then to a 110-127V USA specification power outlet.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On and Temperature Setting
Turn on the station using the 'POWER' switch. The precise double numerical display will show both the set temperature and the actual temperature. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the desired temperature within the range of 90°C~480°C (194°F~896°F).

4.2 Using Preset Channels
The station features 3 preset channels (CH1, CH2, CH3) to save your frequently used temperature settings. To save a setting, adjust the temperature to your desired value, then press and hold the corresponding channel button (e.g., 'MEMORY 1') until the display confirms the save. To recall a saved setting, simply press the channel button briefly.

4.3 Sleep Mode
The sleep mode feature automatically lowers the soldering iron's temperature when it's not in use for an extended period (timer settable from 0 to 99 minutes). This reduces wear on the iron and prolongs its lifespan. To exit sleep mode, simply shake the iron or press any button on the station.

4.4 Recommended Soldering Temperatures
For optimal soldering results, especially with lead-free solder, it is recommended to set the soldering iron/station temperature approximately 50°C / 90°F above the solder's melting point. An additional 100°C / 180°F higher temperature can provide a heat reserve for quick thermal recovery of the tip after the solder connection is made.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance of your soldering iron tip is crucial for prolonging its lifespan and ensuring consistent performance. Always keep the soldering iron tip tinned with a layer of solder before using, after cleaning, and before turning off the station.
5.1 Tinning a New Tip
When using a new tip, tin it with a layer of solder as the iron is heating up. This can be done by applying solder directly onto the tip or by whirling a small roll of solder onto the tip.
5.2 Tip Cleaning
Use the brasswool tip cleaner to remove excess solder and oxidation from the tip. The cleaning sponge, when dampened, can also be used for cleaning. Ensure the sponge is moist, not soaking wet, to avoid thermal shock to the tip.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WEP 927-IV Soldering Station, consider the following:
- No Power/Display Off: Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position and the power cord is securely connected to both the station and a functional 110-127V power outlet.
- Iron Not Heating: Check the temperature setting on the display. Ensure the soldering iron is properly seated in its connection port. If the issue persists, the heating element or tip may need replacement.
