3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Device
The M-Vave H8 has a built-in lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the device.
- Connect the supplied USB cable to the H8's USB port.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
- The charging indicator (usually an LED near the USB port) will illuminate during charging and turn off or change color when fully charged. A full charge provides approximately 5 hours of continuous use.
3.2 Connecting Your Instrument and Headphones
- Insert your guitar's 1/4-inch cable into the H8's instrument input jack.
- Plug your 3.5mm headphones into the H8's headphone output jack.
3.3 Bluetooth Pairing (for Audio Playback)
The H8 supports Bluetooth audio input for playing backing tracks from your mobile device.
- Power on the H8.
- Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet, or other audio playback device.
- Search for available Bluetooth devices and select "M-Vave H8" (or similar name).
- Once paired, the BT indicator LED on the H8 will illuminate steadily. You can now play audio from your device through the H8's headphone output.
3.4 Connecting to a Computer (for Software & Recording)
The H8 can connect to a computer via USB for use with the free Cube Suite software and for internal recording.
- Download and install the Cube Suite software from the M-Vave official website.
- Connect the H8 to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
- The H8 should be recognized as an audio device. You can then use Cube Suite to manage presets, load third-party IRs, and use the H8 as an audio interface for recording in your preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software (not included).
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the On/Off button for a few seconds to power the unit on or off.
4.2 Selecting and Editing Presets
The H8 comes with 10 factory presets. You can select them and edit their parameters.
- Select Preset: Use the Edit Up/Down buttons to cycle through the 10 presets. The corresponding LED (1-10) will light up.
- Adjust Parameters: Rotate the individual knobs (Amp, Gain, Tone, Mod, Time, Fb, Mix, Reverb, Ir cab, Vol) to adjust the desired effect parameters for the current preset.
- Save Preset: After adjusting parameters, press the Store button. The preset LED will blink. Press Store again to confirm saving to the current preset slot.
4.3 Using the Tuner
The H8 features a high-precision tuner.
- Press the Tuner + or Tuner - button to activate the tuner mode. The display LEDs will change to show tuning information.
- Play a single note on your guitar. The corresponding note LED (E, A, D, G, B, E) will light up, and the small dots will indicate if the note is flat, sharp, or in tune.
- Adjust your guitar's tuning until the center dot illuminates, indicating the note is in tune.
- Press the Tuner + or Tuner - button again to exit tuner mode.
4.4 Bypass Function
Press the Bypass button to toggle the effects on or off. When bypassed, the signal from your guitar will pass through without any effects applied.
4.5 Internal Recording
The H8 supports high-quality internal recording when connected to a computer.
- Connect the H8 to your computer via the USB cable.
- Open your preferred recording software (DAW) on your computer.
- Select the M-Vave H8 as your audio input device within your recording software's settings.
- You can now record your guitar signal with the H8's effects directly into your computer.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To clean the M-Vave H8, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
5.2 Battery Care
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50% every few months to preserve battery life.
