- Place the roaster oven on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and other appliances to allow for proper ventilation.

Operating Instructions
General Use
- Place the removable enameled cooking pan into the roaster oven base.
- Insert the roasting rack into the cooking pan.
- Place food directly on the roasting rack. For best results and to prevent burning, add a small amount of water (approximately 1-2 cups) to the bottom of the cooking pan, beneath the rack. This also aids in steaming and keeping food moist.
- Cover the roaster oven with the self-basting lid.
- Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the temperature control knob to the desired setting (150°F to 450°F). The indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the unit is heating.
- Once the desired temperature is reached, the indicator light may cycle on and off to maintain the heat.
- When cooking is complete, turn the temperature control knob to "MIN" and unplug the appliance.
Temperature Settings
The roaster oven offers a wide temperature range from 150°F to 450°F, allowing for various cooking methods:
- Keep Warm (MIN - 150°F): Ideal for maintaining food at serving temperature without overcooking.
- Defrost (250°F): Use this setting to safely defrost frozen items before cooking.
- Roast/Bake (200°F - 450°F): Select higher temperatures for roasting meats like turkey or pot roasts, and lower temperatures for baking casseroles or desserts.

Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always unplug the roaster oven and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the self-basting lid, roasting rack, and enameled cooking pan.
- Wash the lid, roasting rack, and cooking pan in warm, soapy water. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to prolong their lifespan.
- Wipe the exterior of the roaster oven base with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish.
- Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before reassembling or storing the appliance.
Storage
Store the cleaned and dried roaster oven in a cool, dry place. The removable parts can be nested inside the main unit for compact storage.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your AROMA 18-Quart Roaster Oven, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Appliance not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet and the temperature control knob is set to a temperature above "MIN".
- Food not cooking evenly: Verify that the roasting rack is properly positioned and that the lid is securely closed. Ensure sufficient liquid is added to the bottom of the pan to prevent burning and promote even heat distribution.
- Food burning at the bottom: Add 1-2 cups of water or broth to the bottom of the cooking pan, beneath the roasting rack, to create a moist cooking environment and prevent direct contact with the heating element.
- Lid not fitting properly: Check for any food debris or obstructions around the rim of the cooking pan or lid. Ensure the lid is correctly aligned.
