Jam Clearing and Reverse Function

  • The shredder features an auto start and auto reverse function to help clear minor paper jams automatically.
  • If a jam occurs, the shredder may automatically reverse to clear the paper.
  • To manually reverse the shredding process, long-press the "REV" button on the control panel. This can be useful if you accidentally feed a document you wish to retrieve.

Maintenance

Emptying the Waste Bin

When the waste bin is full, the shredder will stop operating. Carefully pull out the waste bin and dispose of the shredded material. Reinsert the bin securely before resuming operation.

Using Lubricant Sheets

Regular lubrication is essential for maintaining optimal shredder performance, preventing jams, and extending the life of the cutting blades. Use the provided Bonsaii lubricant sheets as follows:

  1. Preparation: Ensure the shredder is powered on and in ready mode.
  2. Feed Sheet: Feed one lubricant sheet directly into the shredder's feed entrance, just like a piece of paper.
  3. Shredding: Allow the sheet to be completely shredded.
  4. Lubrication: After the sheet is fully shredded, set the shredder into reverse for approximately 10 seconds. This action helps distribute the lubricant evenly across the blades.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your shredder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Shredder Does Not Turn On:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check that the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
    • Verify the waste bin is correctly inserted and fully closed.
    • Allow the shredder to cool down if it has been running continuously for an extended period (thermal overload protection).
  • Paper Jam:
    • Press and hold the "REV" button to attempt to clear the jam.
    • If the jam persists, unplug the shredder, carefully remove the shredder head, and manually clear any visible paper from the cutting blades. Use caution as blades are sharp.
    • Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum sheet capacity for either manual or auto-feed.
  • Shredder Runs Slowly or Makes Unusual Noise:
    • The cutting blades may require lubrication. Use a Bonsaii lubricant sheet as described in the Maintenance section.
    • Ensure the waste bin is not overfilled, which can obstruct the shredding mechanism.
