Setup
1. Power Connection
The safe can be powered by either the included AC wall power supply or four (4) AA batteries (not included). It is recommended to use both for continuous operation and backup power.
- Connect the wall power supply to the safe's power input and a standard electrical outlet.
- Install four (4) AA batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
2. Mounting the Safe
The Hornady Rapid Safe features pre-drilled mounting holes for securing it to a stationary object, enhancing security against unauthorized removal.

- Choose a secure location for the safe, such as a wall stud or floor.
- Use appropriate hardware (not included) to fasten the safe through the pre-drilled holes.
3. Hornady Security App Setup
Download the Hornady Security app to your smartphone to receive alerts when the safe is unlocked and monitor its status.

- Install the app and follow the in-app instructions to connect your safe to your Wi-Fi network.
Operating Instructions
1. RFID Technology for Touch-Free Entry
The safe utilizes patented RFID technology for rapid, touch-free access. Up to five different RFID tags can be programmed for each safe.

- To program an RFID tag (wristband, key fob, or decal), refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual.
- To open the safe, simply place a programmed RFID tag near the sensor on the safe's lock. The safe will unlock instantly.
2. Digital Keypad Access
A digital keypad provides an alternative entry method.
- Enter your pre-set digital code on the keypad.
- The safe will unlock upon correct code entry.
3. Mechanical Key Access
For emergency access or in case of power failure, a backup mechanical key is provided.
- Insert the mechanical key into the keyhole located on the lock.
- Turn the key to unlock the safe.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Replacement: Replace AA batteries annually or when the low battery indicator appears.
- Lock Mechanism: Do not lubricate the lock mechanism. If it becomes stiff, contact customer support.
