2. Safety Information

  • This product operates on 12V DC, which is safer and more reliable than higher voltage lighting.
  • To avoid potential safety hazards such as spontaneous combustion, ensure proper installation and use.
  • This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not expose to water or high humidity.
  • A compatible 12V power supply (not included) is required for operation. Ensure the power supply's wattage meets or exceeds the total wattage required by the connected LED strip length.
  • Always disconnect power before installing, cutting, or connecting the LED strip lights.
  • Do not bend the LED strip sharply or apply excessive force, as this may damage the circuit.
  • The double-layer copper board is designed for stronger heat dissipation. Ensure adequate ventilation around the installed strip.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in your package:

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your VST LED Strip Lights:

  1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and smooth. Wipe the surface with alcohol or water to remove any dust or grease for optimal adhesive performance.
  2. Measure and Cut (Optional): If a shorter length is required, the LED strip can be cut. Locate the designated cutting marks (usually indicated by a copper pad and a scissor icon) every 3 LEDs. Cut precisely along these marks using sharp scissors.
  3. Connect the Strip (Optional): If you need to connect multiple cut sections or create corners, use the provided quick connectors. Ensure the "+" pole on the strip aligns with the "+" pole on the connector, and the "-" pole aligns with the "-" pole. If the connector does not fasten tightly, gently tear off any adhesive tape covering the connection holes on the strip to ensure a secure contact.
  4. Apply the Strip: Remove the protective backing from the 3M adhesive tape on the back of the LED strip. Carefully press the strip onto the prepared surface, ensuring a long-lasting, permanent hold.
  5. Connect to Power: Connect the JST male connector cable from the LED strip to your compatible 12V power supply (not included). Ensure the polarity is correct.
  6. Test: Plug in your 12V power supply to an electrical outlet to test the lights.

5. Operating Instructions

  • Power On/Off: Once connected to a 12V power supply, the LED strip lights will illuminate. Use the switch on your power supply or an external controller (if installed) to turn the lights on or off.
  • Dimming: These LED strip lights are dimmable. To adjust brightness, a compatible 12V dimmer switch or controller (not included) must be installed between the power supply and the LED strip.
  • Control Methods: Depending on the external controller purchased, the lights may support remote control or voice control functionality. Refer to the instructions provided with your specific controller for details.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the LED strip, ensure the power is disconnected. Gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the strip for any signs of damage, loose connections, or wear. Address any issues promptly.
  • Heat Dissipation: The double-layer copper board enhances heat dissipation. Ensure the strip is not covered by materials that could trap heat, which may affect lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Lights Not Turning On:
    • Check if the 12V power supply is correctly plugged into a working outlet.
    • Verify all connections, especially the JST connector, are secure and correctly aligned (+ to +, - to -).
    • Ensure the power supply is functional and provides the correct 12V output.
  • Uneven Brightness or Flickering:
    • Check for loose connections or damaged sections of the strip.
    • Ensure the power supply is adequate for the total length of the LED strip. An underpowered supply can cause dimming or flickering.
  • Connectors Not Fastening Tightly:
    • If a quick connector does not secure the strip, gently tear off any adhesive tape on the strip that might be obstructing the connection points. This ensures direct contact with the copper pads.
  • Product Compatibility: Please note that accessories recommended by automated systems may not always be accurate. Double-check the light specifications to ensure that any items purchased together are compatible with your VST LED Strip Lights.
