4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install the SMALLRIG Cage Kit components onto your Atomos Ninja monitor.
4.1 Installing the Cage
- Align the monitor with the cage, ensuring the baffle limiters guide the monitor into place.
- Secure the monitor within the cage using the provided 1/4"-20 screws. Use the appropriate Allen key for tightening.
- Attach the anti-twist locating plates as needed for additional stability.

4.2 Attaching the Sunhood
- If using the original sunshade for Atomos Ninja series, install the sunshade first onto the monitor.
- Then, attach the monitor cage (CMA2209B, if applicable) over the sunshade.
- The included sunhood typically attaches to the cage or monitor via Velcro tapes. Ensure all four Velcro tapes are securely fastened.

4.3 Applying the Screen Protector
- Clean the monitor screen thoroughly using the provided wipe, handkerchief, and dust cloth. Use the dust absorber to remove any remaining dust particles.
- Carefully align the screen protector with the monitor screen.
- Gently apply the screen protector, ensuring instant adhesion and avoiding air bubbles.
4.4 Installing the Silicone Case
- To prevent deformation of the silicone case when using with a magic arm or monitor mount, first remove any 1/4"-3/8" conversion nuts from the top and bottom of the monitor body.
- Carefully fit the silicone case around the monitor.
- Reattach any anti-rotation plates and nuts if they were removed.

4.5 Using the Cable Clamp
- Insert your HDMI cable into the monitor port.
- Position the cable clamp to secure the cable firmly against the monitor's side or cage.
- Tighten the clamp screw to prevent accidental disconnections during operation.

7. Troubleshooting
- Issue: Difficulty installing the sunshade.
- Solution: If you are using the original sunshade for Atomos Ninja series, install it onto the monitor first, then attach the SMALLRIG monitor cage (CMA2209B, if applicable).
- Issue: Silicone case deforms when using a magic arm or monitor mount.
- Solution: To prevent deformation, remove any 1/4"-3/8" conversion nuts from the top and bottom of the monitor body before installing the silicone case. After the case is in place, reattach the anti-rotation plate and nuts.
- Issue: HDMI cable becomes loose during operation.
- Solution: Ensure the dedicated cable clamp is properly installed and tightened. The clamp is designed to secure the cable and prevent accidental disconnections.
- Issue: SSD accidentally ejects from the monitor.
- Solution: The cage features an SSD anti-drop structure. Ensure your SSD is correctly inserted and the cage is properly assembled to utilize this feature.
