5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Flip the red power switch on the side of the control unit to the 'ON' position. The digital display will illuminate.
- Adjust Temperature: Use the rotary knob on the front panel to set the desired temperature. The digital display shows the current temperature. It is recommended to initially set the temperature to the highest setting for 5-10 seconds for quick heating, then slowly lower it to your working temperature.
- Temperature Guidelines:
- For light colors and subtle rendering: Approximately 250°C.
- For very dark colors and deep burns: Approximately 450°C.
- Adjust temperature up or down based on your specific material and desired effect.
- Select Pen Tip: Choose from the 30 included pen tips based on the lines, shading, or special effects you wish to create.
- Begin Pyrography: Hold the pen comfortably. The ergonomic, non-slip handle (0.75 inches diameter) is designed for fine control.
- Shading Techniques: The pressure applied and the speed of movement are crucial for achieving different shades. Lighter pressure and faster movement result in lighter colors, while heavier pressure and slower movement create deeper, darker tones.
