Setup and Expansion

The BROOKSTONE Collapsible Laundry Basket is designed for easy expansion and compact storage. Follow these steps to set up your basket:

1. To Expand: Place the collapsed basket on a flat, stable surface. Gently push down on the base of the basket while pulling up on the top rim. The flexible silicone sides will extend, locking into place to form the full-sized basket.
2. To Collapse: Ensure the basket is empty. Push down firmly on the top rim of the basket until the flexible sides fold inward, allowing the basket to flatten for compact storage.

Operating Instructions

This laundry basket is suitable for various uses:

• Laundry Transport: Use the comfortable non-slip grip handles to easily carry full loads of laundry between rooms or to the laundry area. The generous 11-gallon capacity accommodates a significant amount of clothing.
• Sorting: The basket can be used for pre-sorting laundry by color or fabric type.
• General Storage: Beyond laundry, this versatile basket can be used for organizing various household items such as children's toys, towels, pet supplies, or gardening accessories.
• Wet and Dry Use: The durable plastic construction and ventilation holes make it suitable for both wet and dry items, preventing odors and mildew.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity of your laundry basket, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Wipe down the basket with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before collapsing or storing.
• Storage: When not in use, collapse the basket flat and store it in a dry place. Its slim profile allows it to fit in narrow spaces, such as between appliances or under beds.
• Avoid Overloading: While durable, avoid consistently overloading the basket beyond its 11-gallon capacity to prevent strain on the collapsible mechanism and handles.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your BROOKSTONE Collapsible Laundry Basket, please refer to the following common solutions:

• Basket does not expand/collapse smoothly: Ensure the flexible sides are not obstructed. Apply gentle, even pressure when expanding or collapsing. Over time, the material may become more pliable with use.
• Handles feel uncomfortable or slippery: The handles are designed with a comfort grip. If they feel slippery, ensure they are clean and dry. Avoid carrying excessively heavy loads that may strain the handles.
• Odor retention: Although designed with ventilation, prolonged storage of damp items can lead to odors. Clean the basket thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area.
