5. Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your QEEIG Floating Shelves, follow these simple care instructions:
- Cleaning: Wipe the shelves with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust and light smudges.
- Avoid Moisture: While the shelves are durable, avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture to prevent damage to the MDF material and laminated finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting screws and brackets to ensure they remain tight and secure. Tighten if necessary.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your floating shelves, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Shelf is not level: Ensure the mounting bracket was installed perfectly level. Adjust the bracket if needed. The included mini leveler is crucial for this step.
- Shelf feels wobbly or unstable: Verify that all screws are securely tightened into the wall and the shelf board. If installing into drywall without studs, ensure the wall anchors are correctly installed and fully expanded.
- Shelf is sagging: Check that the weight on the shelf does not exceed the 25 lbs limit. Redistribute items or remove excess weight. Ensure the bracket is properly secured to a stud or appropriate wall anchors.
- Difficulty sliding board onto bracket: Ensure the bracket rods are clean and free of obstructions. Gently align the shelf's pre-drilled holes with the rods and apply even pressure.
