4. Setup

4.1 Unfolding and Locking the Gimbal

  1. Gently unfold the Vimble 3 from its compact, folded state.
  2. Ensure all axes are unlocked and can move freely. The Vimble 3 is designed for quick setup without complex balancing.
  3. If using the integrated tripod, extend its legs for stable placement on a flat surface.

4.2 Mounting Your Smartphone

  1. Extend the smartphone holder and carefully place your phone into the clamp. Ensure the phone is centered and securely held.
  2. The Vimble 3 is compatible with smartphones ranging from 49mm to 88mm in width.
  3. The maximum payload capacity after balancing is 0.573 lbs (approximately 260g). Ensure your phone's weight is within this limit for optimal performance.
  4. Note: The Vimble 3 is not directly compatible with action cameras. A third-party mounting plate is required if you wish to use an action camera.

4.3 Powering On and App Connection

  1. Press and hold the Power Button to turn on the Vimble 3. The battery indicator lights will illuminate.
  2. Download the "Feiyu ON" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  4. Open the Feiyu ON app, search for your Vimble 3, and connect via Bluetooth. The app provides additional features and control options.

5.1 Basic Gimbal Movements

  • Joystick Control: Use the 4-way joystick to control the pan (left/right) and tilt (up/down) movements of your smartphone.
  • Shutter Button: Press once to take a photo. Press and hold to start video recording, press again to stop.
  • Mode Button (M): Press to cycle through different follow modes (e.g., Pan Follow, Lock Mode, All Follow). Refer to the Feiyu ON app for detailed descriptions of each mode.

5.2 Switching Orientation (Landscape/Portrait)

The Vimble 3 allows for quick switching between horizontal (landscape) and vertical (portrait) shooting orientations.

  • Double Tap: Double-tap the Mode button (M) to instantly switch your phone's orientation between landscape and portrait modes.
  • The gimbal supports 360° unlimited angle rotation for flexible shooting.
