3. Setup
- Powering the Main Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main display unit. Insert 5 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Alternatively, connect the unit using the provided Type-C charging cable for continuous power.
- Powering the Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the outdoor remote sensor. Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Sensor Placement: For accurate readings, place the outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location, away from direct sunlight, rain, and any heat sources. A covered porch or eave is ideal. The sensor is weatherproof but prolonged direct exposure to harsh elements can affect its lifespan and accuracy.
- Automatic Pairing: The main display unit and outdoor sensor should automatically pair once both are powered on. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings will appear on the main display. If pairing does not occur, refer to the troubleshooting section or the full user manual for manual pairing instructions.

4. Operating Instructions
The ThermoPro TP280 features a clear, colorful display that provides all essential weather information at a glance.

Figure 3: Main Display Unit Overview
Display Overview:
- Outdoor Temperature & Humidity: Displays current outdoor conditions, including MAX/MIN records and trend indicators.
- Weather Forecast: Provides a 24-hour forecast with 6 different weather icons (sunny, partially cloudy, cloudy, rainy, thunderstorms, snow).
- Barometric Pressure: Shows current atmospheric pressure in absolute or relative mode, with a 12-hour history graph.
- Indoor Temperature & Humidity: Displays current indoor conditions, including MAX/MIN records and comfort indicators.
Key Functions:
- Adjusting Brightness: Use the 'LIGHT/DIMMER' button located on the top of the main unit to cycle through 4 brightness options (100%, 80%, 50%, 20%). If powered by batteries only, the backlight will shut off after 15 seconds to conserve power.
- Switching Temperature Units (℃/℉): Press the '℃/℉' button on the back of the main unit to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Viewing MAX/MIN Records: Press the 'MAX/MIN' button on the back to view the highest and lowest temperature/humidity readings recorded since the last reset.
- Viewing History: Press the 'HISTORY' button on the back to review the 12-hour barometric pressure history.
- Channel Selection: If using multiple outdoor sensors (up to 3 supported), use the 'CH' button on the back to cycle through the sensor channels or enable auto-cycle mode.

Figure 8: Adjustable Barometric Pressure
- 7" Adjustable Brightness Display: The large 7-inch display offers 4 brightness options, providing clear readings of high/low indicators, trend arrows, and comfort indicators from any viewing angle or in any light condition.
- Dual Power Supply: The main unit can be powered by either 5 AAA batteries (included) for portability and continued use during power outages, or by a Type-C charger (cable included) for continuous backlight and operation.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both units when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure to use fresh batteries of the correct type (AAA).
- Sensor Care: Periodically check the outdoor sensor's placement to ensure it remains protected from direct sunlight, heavy rain, and extreme temperatures outside its operating range.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Power: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and not depleted. If using the Type-C cable, verify the connection and power source.
- No Outdoor Reading: Check if the outdoor sensor is within the 1,000-foot range. Ensure the sensor's batteries are not depleted. Try re-pairing the units by following the instructions in the full user manual.
- Inaccurate Readings: Verify the outdoor sensor's placement. It should be in a shaded area, away from direct heat sources (e.g., walls, windows, appliances) or direct cold sources (e.g., air conditioning vents).
- Forecast Inaccuracy: The weather station requires approximately 24 hours to learn local barometric pressure patterns for accurate forecasting. Allow sufficient time for the device to calibrate.
