2. Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when using your SUP board. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injury or damage to the product.
- Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD) when paddling.
- Never paddle alone. Inform someone of your paddling plans, including your route and estimated return time.
- Check weather conditions and water forecasts before heading out. Avoid paddling in strong winds, currents, or stormy weather.
- Be aware of local boating regulations and navigation rules.
- Do not exceed the maximum recommended weight capacity of 80 kg (176 lbs).
- Always attach the coiled leash to yourself and the board to prevent separation in case of a fall.
- Avoid contact with sharp objects or abrasive surfaces that could puncture or damage the board.
- Do not overinflate the board. The maximum pressure is 15 PSI.
- This product is designed for adults.
3. Setup and Inflation
3.1 Unpacking and Preparing the Board
- Unroll the board on a clean, flat surface, free of sharp objects.
- Locate the inflation valve, typically at the tail of the board. Ensure the valve pin is in the "up" position (closed) for inflation. If it's down, press it to pop it up.
3.2 Inflating the Board
- Attach the hose from the high-pressure pump to the inflation valve by twisting it clockwise until secure.
- Begin pumping. The board will start to take shape. The pressure gauge on the pump will not register a reading until the board reaches a higher pressure (around 7 PSI).
- Continue pumping until the board reaches the recommended pressure of 15 PSI. Do not exceed 15 PSI. The board should feel very rigid when fully inflated.
- Once inflated, quickly detach the pump hose and replace the valve cap to prevent air leakage and protect the valve.

- Slide the metal pin of the fin into the fin box slot on the underside of the board.
- Push the fin forward until it clicks into place. The US-Box system allows for tool-free installation.
- Ensure the fin is securely locked before use.
3.4 Leash Attachment

- Attach one end of the coiled leash to the D-ring located at the tail of the board.
- Secure the other end of the leash around your ankle or calf using the comfortable cuff. Ensure it is snug but not too tight.
4. Operating Your SUP Board
4.1 Getting Started
The Mistral Coral 10'5 is designed for versatility and stability, making it suitable for beginners and various activities like touring, yoga, and fitness.

Image 4.1: A paddler demonstrating proper stance and paddling technique on the Mistral Coral SUP board in open water.
- Entering the Water: Carry the board to shallow water. Kneel on the center of the board, then slowly stand up once you feel stable.
- Paddling Stance: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, centered over the handle. Keep your knees slightly bent and your core engaged.
- Paddling Technique: Use a forward stroke by reaching forward with the paddle, immersing the blade fully, and pulling it back towards your feet. Alternate sides to maintain a straight course.
- Turning: To turn, paddle on one side only, or use a sweep stroke (a wide arc) on the opposite side of the desired turn.

- Bungee Cords: Located at the front of the board, these are ideal for securing dry bags, water bottles, or other gear.
- Carry Handle: A central handle for easy transport of the inflated board.
- D-Rings: Multiple D-rings are strategically placed for leash attachment, securing gear, or attaching a kayak seat (not included).
5. Maintenance and Storage
5.1 Cleaning
- After each use, rinse the board thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and dirt.
- Use mild soap and water for stubborn stains. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the board is completely dry before deflating and storing to prevent mold and mildew.
5.2 Deflation and Packing
- Remove the fin.
- Open the valve cap and press the valve pin down to lock it in the "open" position. Air will rapidly escape.
- You can use the pump in "deflate" mode (if available) or manually roll the board from the nose towards the tail to push out remaining air.
- Once deflated, fold or roll the board neatly to fit into the carry bag. Store the fin, pump, leash, and repair kit together in the bag.
5.3 Storage
- Store the board in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid storing the board in a tightly rolled or folded position for extended periods if possible. Loosely rolled is ideal for long-term storage.
- Keep the board away from rodents and pests that could damage the material.
5.4 Repair Kit Usage
- For small punctures, clean the area around the hole.
- Cut a round patch from the provided material, larger than the puncture.
- Apply adhesive (from the kit) evenly to both the patch and the board around the puncture.
- Press the patch firmly onto the board, ensuring no air bubbles. Allow ample drying time (at least 24 hours) before reinflating.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Board loses air quickly. | Valve pin is in "open" position; Valve cap not secured; Puncture in board. | Ensure valve pin is in "up" (closed) position. Secure valve cap tightly. Locate puncture (use soapy water) and repair with kit. |
| Pump gauge not showing pressure. | Board not yet rigid enough for gauge to register; Loose hose connection. | Continue pumping until board becomes firm. Ensure pump hose is securely twisted onto the valve. |
| Fin does not stay in place. | Fin not fully inserted or locked. | Ensure the fin's metal pin is fully engaged in the fin box slot and pushed forward until it clicks. |
| Board feels unstable. | Underinflated; Incorrect stance; Strong water conditions. | Inflate to 15 PSI. Adjust your foot position to be centered over the handle. Avoid paddling in choppy water or strong currents. |
