4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the thermometer.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Placement and Mounting

The thermometer offers flexible placement options:

  • Tabletop Placement: Utilize the foldable stand located on the back of the unit to prop it up on any flat surface.
  • Magnetic Mounting: The two small magnets on the back allow the thermometer to adhere to metal surfaces, such as a refrigerator or a metal frame.

For the outdoor sensor:

  • The waterproof cable sensor has a length of 3 meters (approximately 9.8 feet).
  • Position the sensor outdoors in a location protected from direct sunlight and precipitation for accurate readings.
  • The sensor is suitable for various applications, including outdoor environments, inside a car, a refrigerator, or even an aquarium.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Overview

The large digital display shows temperature readings. The 'IN' indicator signifies indoor temperature, while 'OUT' signifies outdoor temperature.

5.2 Switching Between Indoor and Outdoor Temperature

On the back of the device, locate the 'IN/OUT' button. Press this button to toggle between displaying the indoor temperature (measured by the main unit) and the outdoor temperature (measured by the cable sensor).

5.3 Max/Min Function

The thermometer records the maximum and minimum temperatures for both indoor and outdoor readings since the last reset.

  1. Press the 'MAX/MIN' button (located on the side of the unit) once to display the maximum recorded temperature.
  2. Press the 'MAX/MIN' button again to display the minimum recorded temperature.
  3. Press the 'MAX/MIN' button a third time to return to the current temperature display.

5.4 Resetting Max/Min Values

To reset the maximum and minimum temperature values, press and hold the 'MAX/MIN' button for approximately 3 seconds while the max or min values are displayed. The values will reset to the current temperature.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your thermometer:

  • Clean the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the outdoor sensor cable is not kinked or damaged.
  • Regularly check the battery and replace it when the display becomes dim or shows a low battery indicator.
