Setup
1. Charging Station Placement
Select a flat area with access to a power outlet. The charging station should be placed on the lawn, ideally in a shaded spot to protect it from direct sunlight. Ensure there is sufficient clear space around the station for the mower to dock easily. Refer to the included spacer ruler for recommended distances from obstacles.
2. Boundary Wire Installation
The boundary wire defines the mowing area. Lay the wire around the perimeter of your lawn, securing it with the provided fixing pegs. Maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm from edges, flowerbeds, or obstacles. For areas with steep drops (e.g., deep flowerbeds), ensure the 30 cm minimum distance is strictly adhered to, as the mower may turn towards obstacles. Connect both ends of the boundary wire to the charging station.
3. Initial Charging
Once the charging station and boundary wire are set up, place the robotic mower into the charging station. Allow it to fully charge before its first operation. The battery indicator on the mower or app will show the charging status.
Operation
1. Powering On and Off
To power on, press the power button on the mower's control panel. To power off, press and hold the power button.
2. Adjusting Cutting Height
The cutting height can be adjusted using the central dial on top of the mower. Rotate the dial to select a height between 20 mm and 50 mm (3 levels).

3. Using the Control Panel and App
The mower can be controlled directly via its integrated LCD display and buttons, or remotely using the Yard Force app via Bluetooth. The app allows for easier scheduling and setting adjustments.

4. Scheduling Mowing Times
Set up a mowing schedule through the app for automated operation. For optimal lawn health, daily mowing is recommended during periods of intense grass growth.
5. Rain Sensor Functionality
The integrated rain sensor detects precipitation and instructs the mower to return to its charging station, preventing operation in wet conditions.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Mower
Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance. The Yard Force XPower 400 features a waterproof battery housing and can be cleaned with a hose. Ensure the mower is turned off and the battery is removed before cleaning.

2. Blade Replacement
Dull blades can affect cutting performance. Regularly inspect the blades and replace them when necessary. Always use genuine Yard Force replacement blades and screws. Ensure the mower is powered off and the battery is removed before replacing blades.
3. Battery Care
The 20V Li-ion battery is designed for durability. For long-term storage, especially during winter, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) and stored in a cool, dry place. The interchangeable battery system allows for use with other Yard Force 20V tools.

Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Yard Force XPower 400.
- Mower not starting or returning to base:
- Check if the boundary wire is properly connected to the charging station and intact.
- Ensure the charging station has power.
- Verify the battery is charged. If the mower stops at 25% battery, this is normal behavior to ensure it can return to the charging station.
- If the mower fails to dock correctly, manually place it in the station and check for obstructions.
- Mower getting stuck or leaving designated area:
- Inspect the boundary wire installation. Ensure it maintains the recommended distance from obstacles and edges.
- Remove any small objects or uneven terrain that might cause the mower to get stuck.
- For areas with steep drops, ensure the boundary wire is laid at least 30 cm away to prevent the mower from falling.
- Poor cutting performance:
- Check if the blades are sharp and free from debris. Replace dull blades.
- Adjust the cutting height to suit your lawn conditions.
- App connectivity issues:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the mower is within range (up to 50m).
- Restart the app and the mower.
- Mower is noisy:
- Check for any foreign objects caught in the blades or wheels.
- Ensure blades are properly installed and not damaged.
