- For the infrared sensor lens, gently wipe with a cotton swab lightly moistened with alcohol. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Ensure the device is completely dry before storage or next use.
5.2 Storage
- Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If the thermometer will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage to the device.
6. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display / Device won't turn on | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Replace batteries with new 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate readings | Incorrect measurement distance; dirty sensor lens; ambient temperature fluctuations. | Ensure proper distance (1-5cm). Clean the IR sensor. Allow thermometer to acclimatize to room temperature for 15-20 minutes before use. |
| "Lo" or "Hi" displayed | Temperature is outside the measurable range. | Ensure the thermometer is in the correct mode (Body/Surface) and the temperature is within the specified range. |
| No sound from fever alarm | Silent mode is activated. | Deactivate silent mode (refer to section 4.6). |
