Setup Guide
1. Battery Installation
The pager receiver requires 4 AA batteries, which are included. The call buttons come with pre-installed button cell batteries.
- For the Pager Receiver: Open the battery compartment on the back of the pager. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment securely.
- For Call Buttons: The call buttons are ready to use with pre-installed batteries. If replacement is needed in the future, refer to the Maintenance section.
2. Pager Placement
The pager receiver is portable and can be carried by the caregiver using its built-in belt clip or placed on a flat surface. For optimal performance, ensure the pager is within the wireless signal range of the call buttons.

The call buttons offer multiple flexible mounting options to suit various needs and locations:

- Adhesive Patch Mounting: For a less permanent solution, use the included adhesive patches to attach the call button bracket to a clean, dry surface.

Operating Instructions
1. Initiating a Call
To alert the caregiver, simply press the large red "Push for Help" button on the call button. The button will send a wireless signal to the pager receiver.

Figure 4: A user activating the call button to send an alert to the caregiver's pager.
2. Pager Alert Tones and Volume
The pager receiver offers two alert modes and adjustable volume settings:
- DingDong Mode: For a less disturbing alert, switch the pager to "DINGDONG". It will chime once when a call button is pressed.
- Alarm Mode: For continuous alerting in emergency situations, switch the pager to "ALARM". It will emit a continuous siren until the alert is acknowledged or the button is pressed again.
- Volume Control: Adjust the volume using the dial on the side of the pager (low, medium, high).
Each call button can be differentiated by a 3-color indicator on the pager, allowing the caregiver to identify which button was pressed (e.g., red, green, blue). This feature helps in quickly locating the person needing assistance if multiple buttons are in use.
3. Wireless Range
The wireless signal range between the pager and call buttons is up to 500 feet in open areas. Environmental factors such as concrete or brick walls and heavy electronic equipment may affect the signal range. It is recommended to test the range in your specific environment after setup.

Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
- Pager Receiver: The pager uses 4 AA alkaline batteries. When the sound becomes softer or the pager stops responding, it's time to replace the batteries. Open the battery compartment on the back and replace all 4 batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity.
- Call Buttons: A blinking LED light on the call button indicates a low battery. To replace the button cell battery (CR2032, typically), carefully open the call button casing using a small screwdriver. Replace the old battery with a new one, observing polarity, and securely close the casing.
Note: Always dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
2. Cleaning
To clean the pager and call buttons, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by immediate drying. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the devices in water.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pager does not sound when button is pressed. |
|
|
| Pager alert sound is too quiet or too loud. | Volume setting is incorrect. | Adjust the volume dial on the side of the pager. |
| Call button does not stay in its holder. | Holder may be slightly oversized or button not seated correctly. | Ensure the button is firmly clicked into the holder. If issues persist, consider using screw mounting or the lanyard option for secure placement. |
| Alarm sound is too aggressive. | The "ALARM" mode is designed for emergency. | Switch the pager to "DINGDONG" mode for a single chime alert. Adjust volume to the lowest setting if "ALARM" mode is necessary but less intrusive sound is desired. |
