1. Introduction

The Phanteks Evolv Shift XT is a compact small form-factor (SFF) chassis designed for mini-ITX systems. It features an extendable design that allows users to adjust the chassis height to optimize cooling performance. 2. Key Features

• Extendable Chassis Design: The chassis can be extended to three different sizes (Compact, Air Boost, Liquid Cooled) to accommodate varying cooling requirements, supporting up to two 120/140mm fans or a 240mm AIO liquid cooler.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Preparing the Chassis

Before installing components, ensure the chassis is placed on a stable, flat surface. The Evolv Shift XT features an open chassis design, allowing access to all internal components by opening the hinged panels.

3.2 Motherboard Installation

The chassis supports Mini-ITX motherboards. Carefully align your motherboard with the standoffs and secure it using the provided screws.

3.3 GPU Installation

The Evolv Shift XT includes a built-in PCI-e x16 Gen4 Riser Cable. Install your graphics card into the riser cable slot. The chassis supports GPUs up to 324mm in length and 3 slots wide. Ensure the GPU is securely mounted using the Riser Cable Lock and any additional GPU straps.

3.4 Power Supply Installation

This chassis requires an SFX power supply. Mount the power supply in its designated internal location. Route power cables using the integrated cable hooks and Velcro ties for optimal organization and airflow.

3.5 Cooling System Configuration

The chassis offers three cooling configurations:

• Compact Mode: Standard height, suitable for CPU air coolers up to 72mm tall.
• Air Boost Mode: Chassis height extended by 32mm, allowing for installation of two 120mm or 140mm fans at the top for enhanced airflow.
• Liquid Cooled Mode: Chassis height extended by 60mm, enabling installation of a 240mm AIO liquid cooler at the top. The removable radiator bracket assists with installation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Adjusting Chassis Height

To change between Compact, Air Boost, and Liquid Cooled modes, carefully extend or retract the top section of the chassis. Ensure all internal cables and components have sufficient clearance during adjustment.

4.2 D-RGB Lighting Control

The integrated D-RGB Infinity Mirror features built-in lighting effects. These can be controlled directly via the chassis's front I/O panel or synchronized with compatible motherboard software if connected to the motherboard's D-RGB header. No additional software is required for basic control.

4.3 Front I/O Ports

The front panel provides a USB-C Gen2 port (10Gb/s) and a USB 3.0 port for connecting peripherals and external storage devices.

• Cleaning Exterior: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the anodized aluminum panels. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Dust Removal: Periodically clean the ultra-fine mesh panels and internal components to prevent dust buildup, which can hinder airflow and cooling efficiency. Compressed air can be used for this purpose.
• Cable Management: Regularly check cable routing to ensure no cables are obstructing airflow or fan operation.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter:

• High Component Temperatures: Ensure the chassis is configured to the appropriate cooling mode (Air Boost or Liquid Cooled) for your components. Verify that all fans are operating correctly and that mesh panels are clear of obstructions. Proper cable management is crucial for airflow in SFF builds.
• Difficulty Installing Components: Due to the compact nature of SFF cases, precise component selection and careful planning are necessary. Refer to the specifications for maximum GPU length, CPU cooler height, and AIO radiator support.
• Power Cable Interference: In some configurations, especially with water cooling, GPU power cables might interfere with water lines or fans. Consider using 90-degree power adapters if space is extremely limited.
• D-RGB Lighting Not Functioning: Check all D-RGB connections. If connected to a motherboard, ensure the motherboard's RGB software is correctly configured. If using built-in controls, verify the front I/O connections.
