Operating Instructions
Igniting a Burner
To ignite a burner:
- Place your cookware on the desired cast iron grate.
- Push down the corresponding control knob and turn it counter-clockwise to the maximum flame position. You will hear a clicking sound as the electronic igniter sparks.
- Hold the knob down for a few seconds after the flame ignites to allow the thermocouple to heat up and activate the safety valve. Release the knob. If the flame extinguishes, repeat the process, holding the knob down slightly longer.

Adjusting Flame Intensity (ExactFlame)
The ExactFlame system allows you to precisely control the flame intensity with 9 power levels. Once the burner is lit, rotate the control knob to select your desired heat level from 1 (minimum) to 9 (maximum). This provides optimal control for various cooking tasks.
Turning Off a Burner
To turn off a burner, simply rotate the control knob clockwise until it clicks into the "off" position. The gas supply will be cut off.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Teka cooktop.
General Cleaning Tips
- Always ensure the cooktop is cool before cleaning.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the glass surface and other components.
- Wipe up spills immediately to prevent them from baking onto the surface.
Cleaning the Glass-Ceramic Surface
Use a soft cloth or sponge with warm soapy water or a specialized ceramic cooktop cleaner. For stubborn stains, a ceramic scraper can be used carefully at an angle. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.
Cleaning Cast Iron Grills and Burner Caps
The cast iron grills and burner caps can be removed for cleaning. Wash them with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive brush. Dry them completely before placing them back on the cooktop to prevent rust.
Burner Ports and Igniters
Periodically check that the burner ports are not clogged. Use a small brush or needle to clear any debris. Ensure the igniter electrodes are clean and dry for proper sparking.
