2. Safety Instructions
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this machine. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and sturdy gloves when operating the sieve.
- Work Area: Ensure the work area is clean, well-lit, and free from obstructions. Keep children and bystanders away from the operating machine.
- Electrical Safety: Connect the machine only to a properly grounded outlet. Do not operate in wet conditions or expose to rain. Inspect the power cord for damage before each use.
- Stable Surface: Place the sieve on a firm, level surface to prevent tipping during operation.
- Material Handling: Do not overload the drum. Only sift materials specified for this machine (compost, soil, sand). Avoid sifting large stones, metal objects, or other debris that could damage the drum or motor.
- Maintenance: Disconnect the power plug from the outlet before performing any adjustments, cleaning, or maintenance.
3. Package Contents
Carefully unpack all components and check for any damage. Ensure all items listed below are present:
- GÜDE Rollzeef GRS 375 Drum Sieve Unit
- 10 mm Sieve Insert (pre-installed or separate)
- Collection Bag
- Instruction Manual
4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your GRS 375 drum sieve:
- Unpacking and Positioning: Remove all packaging materials. Place the sieve on a stable, level surface in your work area. Ensure there is enough space around the machine for safe operation and material handling.
- Assembly (if required): The GRS 375 is designed for easy assembly and can be collapsed for transport. If not already assembled, attach the stand and wheels according to the diagrams. Secure all fasteners tightly.
- Installing the Sieve Insert: The machine comes with a 20 mm mesh drum and a 10 mm wire sieve insert. To use the 10 mm mesh, carefully place the wire insert inside the main drum. Ensure it is seated correctly and securely.
- Adjusting the Tilt Angle: The sieve's tilt angle can be adjusted to one of three positions: 0°, 6°, or 8°. This adjustment influences the sifting speed and efficiency. Use the adjustment mechanism (often involving gas struts or pins) on the side of the frame to select the desired angle. Ensure the mechanism is securely locked in place after adjustment.

5. Operating Instructions
Before starting, ensure all safety precautions are observed and the machine is correctly set up.
- Power Connection: Connect the machine to a standard 230 V, 50 Hz power outlet. Ensure the protection class IP44 is suitable for your environment.
- Starting the Machine: Locate the control panel. Press the green 'ON' button to start the drum rotation.

- Loading Material: Gradually feed the material (compost, soil, sand) into the rotating drum. Avoid dumping large quantities at once, as this can overload the motor and reduce sifting efficiency.
- Sifting Process: The rotating drum will separate finer particles, which will fall through the mesh into the collection bag positioned underneath. Larger debris will be discharged from the end of the drum.
- Emptying the Collection Bag: Periodically check and empty the collection bag to prevent overflow and maintain efficient operation.
- Stopping the Machine: To stop the machine, press the red 'OFF' button on the control panel. Disconnect the power plug from the outlet after use.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your GRS 375 drum sieve.
- Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the power and clean the drum, frame, and collection bag. Remove any accumulated material, especially from the mesh, to prevent clogging and corrosion. Use a brush or compressed air for the drum.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all fasteners, cables, and connections for wear or damage. Replace any damaged parts immediately.
- Storage: Store the machine in a dry, protected area when not in use. The GRS 375 can be partially collapsed for more compact storage.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GRS 375, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
