2. Safety Instructions

Always prioritize safety when operating power equipment. Failure to follow these safety guidelines can result in serious injury or property damage.

  • Read the Manual: Familiarize yourself with all controls and safety features before operating the lawnmower.

4. Setup

4.1 Assembly

Your lawnmower may require some assembly before first use. Typically, this involves attaching the handle, securing the grass catcher, and connecting any control cables.

  • Handle Assembly: Unfold the handle and secure it using the provided knobs or bolts. Ensure all cables are routed correctly and not pinched.
  • Grass Catcher Attachment: Assemble the grass catcher if necessary and hook it onto the rear of the lawnmower, ensuring it is securely in place.

4.2 Adding Engine Oil

The engine is shipped without oil. You must add the correct type and amount of engine oil before starting the engine for the first time.

  • Place the lawnmower on a level surface.
  • Locate the oil filler cap/dipstick.
  • Carefully add SAE30 4-stroke engine oil (approximately 0.6 liters) until the oil level reaches the 'FULL' mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  • Securely replace the oil filler cap.

4.3 Adding Fuel

Use fresh, unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 95 RON or higher.

  • Ensure the engine is off and cool.
  • Open the fuel tank cap.
  • Fill the fuel tank, leaving a small space for expansion. Do not overfill.
  • Securely replace the fuel tank cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.

4.4 Electric Start Battery

The integrated Li-ion battery for the electric start system charges automatically during operation. Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged for reliable starting.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Engine

  • Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct.
  • For electric start: Press and hold the safety bar against the handle, then press the electric start button. Release the button once the engine starts.
  • For manual start (if applicable): Press and hold the safety bar against the handle, then pull the starter cord firmly until the engine starts.

5.2 Adjusting Cutting Height

The cutting height can be centrally adjusted to 7 positions (25-75 mm).

  • Turn off the engine and wait for the blade to stop completely.
  • Locate the central height adjustment lever, usually near one of the rear wheels.
  • Pull the lever outwards and move it to the desired height setting. Ensure it locks securely into place.
  • For best results, avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time.

5.3 Using Self-Propulsion (FlexSpeed)

The lawnmower features a self-propelled system with adjustable speed (FlexSpeed) for easier operation.

  • To engage self-propulsion, press the drive lever against the handle.
  • Adjust the speed using the FlexSpeed control lever (if available) on the handle.
  • To disengage, release the drive lever.

5.4 Mowing Functions (4-in-1)

  • Collecting: Attach the 60L grass catcher. The fill level indicator will show when it needs emptying.
  • Mulching: Remove the grass catcher and insert the mulching plug into the rear discharge opening. The special mulching blade will finely chop grass clippings, returning nutrients to the lawn.
  • Side Discharge: Remove the grass catcher and mulching plug. Attach the side discharge chute to direct clippings away from the cutting deck.
  • Rear Discharge: Remove the grass catcher and mulching plug. Clippings will be discharged directly from the rear.

5.5 Stopping the Engine

To stop the engine, release the safety bar. The engine will shut off automatically.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your lawnmower.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Easy Clean System: After each use, connect a garden hose to the Easy Clean port on the cutting deck. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to clean the underside of the deck.
  • General Cleaning: After each use, clean the exterior of the lawnmower, grass catcher, and engine cooling fins. Use a brush or cloth; avoid high-pressure washers directly on engine components.

6.2 Blade Maintenance

  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the blade for sharpness, damage, or imbalance. A dull blade tears grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn.
  • Sharpening/Replacement: Have the blade sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician. Always ensure the blade is balanced after sharpening.

6.3 Engine Maintenance

  • Oil Change: Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 25 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
  • Air Filter: Clean or replace the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. A clogged air filter reduces engine performance.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect and clean the spark plug annually. Replace if worn or fouled.

6.4 Storage

  • Before long-term storage, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer.
  • Clean the lawnmower thoroughly.
  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
