This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your KRUPS Evidence ECOdesign Fully Automatic Coffee Machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.
2. Important Safety Instructions
- Always ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning or maintenance.
- Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Use only cold, fresh water in the water tank.
- Do not operate the machine if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- Refer to the troubleshooting section for minor issues before contacting support.
3. Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the main components and control panel of your KRUPS Evidence ECOdesign coffee machine.

3.1 Components
- Water Tank: Located on the side, for fresh water supply.
- Bean Hopper: Top-mounted, for whole coffee beans.
- Control Panel: Front-facing, with touch-sensitive buttons for beverage selection and machine functions.
- Coffee Outlet: Adjustable height for various cup sizes.
- Drip Tray: Collects excess water and coffee drips.
- Coffee Grounds Container: Collects used coffee pucks.
- Milk System Nozzle: For preparing milk-based beverages.
4. Setup and First Use
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present. Keep packaging for potential future transport or service.

4.2 Initial Cleaning and Preparation
- Wash the water tank, drip tray, and coffee grounds container with warm soapy water, then rinse thoroughly.
- Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level.
- Place the water tank back into the machine.
- Fill the bean hopper with whole coffee beans. Do not use ground coffee or instant coffee in the bean hopper.
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
4.3 First Use / Priming
Upon first use or after a long period of inactivity, the machine will perform a priming cycle to fill the internal circuits with water.
- Follow the on-screen prompts or indicator lights for the priming process.
- Place a container under the coffee outlet to collect water during priming.
- The machine is ready for use once the priming cycle is complete.
5. Operation
Your KRUPS Evidence ECOdesign offers a wide range of coffee and milk-based beverages with simple one-touch operation.

5.1 Making Coffee
The machine offers Ristretto, Espresso, Lungo, Americano, and Coffee options.
- Place one or two cups under the coffee outlet.
- Select your desired coffee type from the control panel.
- The machine will automatically grind the beans and brew your coffee.
- You can adjust the coffee strength and volume using the dedicated buttons before brewing.

5.2 Making Milk-Based Beverages
Prepare Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, and Caffe Latte with the integrated milk system.
- Connect the milk tube to the milk system nozzle and insert the other end into a container of fresh milk.
- Place one or two appropriate cups under the coffee outlet.
- Select your desired milk-based beverage (e.g., Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato).
- The machine will automatically froth and dispense milk, followed by coffee.
- Important: Clean the milk system nozzle after every milk preparation to prevent blockages.

5.3 Hot Water Function
For tea or other hot beverages, select the "Hot Water" option.
- Place a cup under the hot water outlet.
- Select the "Hot Water" button on the control panel.
- The machine will dispense hot water.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and rinse daily.
- Milk System: After each milk preparation, clean the nozzle by pressing the start button (not the clean button twice).
- Water Tank: Rinse daily and refill with fresh water.
6.2 Descaling
The machine will indicate when descaling is required. Use only KRUPS descaling solution.
- Follow the on-screen instructions or indicator lights for the descaling process.
- This process typically involves dissolving a descaling tablet in water and running it through the machine.
6.3 Cleaning Tablets
The automatic cleaning system requires only three cleaning tablets per year for thorough internal cleaning.
- The machine will prompt you when a cleaning cycle is due.
- Place a KRUPS cleaning tablet into the designated compartment and follow the machine's instructions.
6.4 Water Filter Replacement
Replace the water filter regularly as indicated by the machine or every two months, whichever comes first, to maintain water quality and reduce descaling frequency.
7. Troubleshooting
