Operating Instructions
Using the Drawers
The file cabinet features two spacious drawers designed to accommodate letter-sized hanging files. Gently pull the handles to open the drawers and push to close. Avoid forcing the drawers, especially if they feel stiff.
Locking Mechanism
The top drawer is equipped with a lock for securing sensitive documents. Insert the key into the lock and turn to lock or unlock. Ensure the drawer is fully closed before attempting to lock it. Two keys are provided.
Hanging File Bar Usage
Each drawer includes two sets of hanging bars. These bars are designed to hold letter-sized hanging file folders, keeping your documents organized and easily accessible.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the cabinet surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.
- Drawer Rails: Periodically check the drawer slide rails for any debris or obstructions. If drawers become stiff, a small amount of silicone lubricant can be applied to the rails.
- Hardware: Regularly inspect all screws and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Tighten any loose hardware to maintain stability.
Troubleshooting
- Drawers are stiff or difficult to open/close: Check for obstructions in the drawer rails. Ensure the rails are properly aligned and lubricated. Verify that the cabinet is on a level surface.
- Lock not engaging: Ensure the top drawer is fully closed and flush with the cabinet frame before attempting to lock. Check if the key is fully inserted and turned correctly.
- Cabinet wobbles: Confirm all assembly screws are tightened. Ensure the cabinet is placed on a flat, stable surface. Re-check the anti-tipping device installation.
